What's the problem you're having with #Syncthing #OpenBSD?

I found that I had to just turn off the file watching feature and just set it to poll every minute or so. OpenBSD just can't seem to handle that many open files.

I'm running my OpenBSD laptop all the time right now. I'd like to get started with the 20+ desktop how-to posts I'm planning.

I also broke my foot.

While I can't move around, I can't sync the user files in the OpenBSD system with my Debian desktop (via Syncthing) and back to my Fedora disk on the laptop, so that's a big reason to stay in OpenBSD.

Why is the #NAS suddenly out of space?

Well it turns out I've been keeping redundant copies of #HomeAssistant backups, #SyncThing was also keeping its own versions, and the NAS has its recycling bin.

Anyway, what was I actually trying to do?

This past weekend, I upgraded at #SaskTel from a #Samsung #s10e to a #Google #Pixel9. Here are the #Fdroid apps I have installed so far:

These are a great selection of apps.

And now that I think of it. I wouldn't even have to manually encrypt the drive clone. I'd just sync the drive clone to my friend using #syncthing and enter an encryption key in the sharing options. Then proceed to encrypt that key twice as in the original post and you're good to go. This way you go through customs without data and when you arrive, with the help of your friend, you can restore everything.

@thelinuxcast I'm a plaintext kinda guy, mostly using markdown for #notetaking.
So from my smartphone I recommend #markor, which I sync to computer with #syncthing (using dir - `Documents/notes/` for all my #notes), and then just use either Vim or Sublime.

@thelinuxcast interesting. I'm a free software enjoyer and I prefer #Orgmode + #Emacs + #SyncThing + ZettelNotes.

@lzambrana habrá que darle una leída! Yo uso #keepassxc en #linux, #keepassdx en #android, y uso #syncthing para sincronizar la DB. Va genial.

@magpieluvseeds #Syncthing is very powerful, but is very likely for geeks only. Probably too advanced for non-geeks. You can set up a private syncthing "relay" on a vps, if you're really geeky. That relay can be inside a #wireguard subnet. That's the ultimate cloud usage of it, IMHO.

Я бы написал больше, но уже и это успею навряд ли. Планов и идей много, компетенции в целом есть, обратиться за помощью тоже есть к кому. В конце лета посмотрим, что я успел!)

@thebishopgame #Syncthing is a great piece of free and open source software for syncing files between devices. I use it locally but I know others who use it to sync and backup between NAS boxes over the internet.

대용량 파일 들어있는 디렉터리 이름 바꾸었더니, 동기화 대상 중 하나에 폴더 2개 생기고 파일 양쪽에 보이는데 용량은 그대로인 현상나며 뒤틀렸다. 다른 하나는 폴더만 삭제가 안되었다.
