Afternoon hike along the Corte Playa Catalina and Rim trails in San Diego's Mission Trails Regional Park. Took a few photos and got some steps in.
Rain coming soon.
It's the same:
Experiments with the import of KML and GPX exported routes from Grasshopper into some OSM based maps on my iPhone.

If you ever paid for a #GaiaGPS subscription they’re raising the price by 50% this year to $60 USD. Fuck that. #CalTopo, not owned by car centric Outside Magazine and with much of those same functionality, is still only $20 a year: https://caltopo.com/
need to move a bunch of gaiagps waypoints, tracks, etc into a new folder? for a less painful way, do this...
1. create a new folder and set the map visibility to "off"
2. on the main map, select the track, etc to move and click "change folder" to move it to the folder you just created. it will disappear from the map, making it easy to see what's left to do.
repeat step two for each point, etc. turn on map visibility for folder when done.
Mapping question about something I’m seeing in Gaia GPS in the “Outdoors” layer.
The map shows a purple line that follows some roads and trails. If I zoom in the line is shown as purple dots. These purple dots indicate a route?
I finally found a label for this purple line, but so far my internet searches find nothing about this “Cross Snohomish County Hike & Bike Route.”
Clearly this route exists in this map. Where did it come from and how can I learn more about it?
Do you use AllTrails, GAIA GPS or onXmaps?
Surprise! Bet you did not know you are *indemnifying* those companies.
Worst case translation: The company is sued and you must reimburse the company for the attorney fees they spend defending themselves. That is my understanding of the gist of “indemnification”.

Since when did driving obnoxiously oversized off road #vehicles in remote and environmentally sensitive places get called “overlanding”? No surprise that car companies irresponsibly market vehicles in this way, but it really bothers me that outlets like #OutsideMagazine and apps like #GaiaGPS promote this activity. Feels like this term is a marketing scam for the auto industry. The #WarOnCars folks did an excellent episode that relates to this about road ecology: https://overcast.fm/+O31rZHvFA
