I finished spinning the singles for the Mega Multi Gradient, hooray! Just one more skein to ply, which will only take about half an hour, and it'll be done! The whole pound of fibre took 11 weeks to spin and ply. I won't know the yardage until after it's washed, but if it matches the other stuff I made (fingers crossed that it does, because it's supposed to), it's about 1800 yards of 3-ply fingering weight yarn. Pictures soon :)
It's strange not to have the wheel in the middle of the living room after so long. I'm not planning to start a new spinning project until the #TourDeFleece starts in July. Gonna focus on some other artsy-craftsy things until then.
When you have a yarn and fiber festival in your own town, it is lovely! Got some Targhee yarn, a glasses case, and some bear fluff. Apparently actual bear fluff you can spin.

A little later than planned, but here it is! This is our first major handspinning project and also what our plying tester the other day was for!
If my maths is right, there should be somewhere around 77 metres of yarn here! Not a Whole lot to work with, especially at this weight, but whole lot of progress towards a useable handspun yarn!
Plying is completed! I had to do 2 different plying bracelets because the singles snapped once but it worked out because it let me ply easily in two separate sessions. Canโt wait to get this off the bobbin, soaked, and set, so I can see how much there is, understand its weight/grist/whatever and decide what to do with it! #HandSpunYarn #handSpinning #fiberarts
Plied. Equinox is a good day to clear the wheel for something else.
100% angora yarn, ready for #knitting into mittens.
The one on the left is dyed with black walnut hulls #naturalDye and the one on the right is a natural cream, for comparison.
In total there's 181 yards / 1.45 ounces of 3-ply light fingering (20 WPI) yarn. I'm considering modifying the Mesquite Mittens by Traci Scott pattern for these hanks.

More progress - one sleeve about 2/3 finished.
I'm doing the sleeves first because it's easier to make the body a tad longer or shorter. But too short sleeves look just ridiculous.
More progress.
I'm at 3 skeins of 6 but far from half the yardage as I started with the least yardage-per-weight skeins so the weight won't pull at the bottom.
Still loving both sides.
But boy is this thing heavy. I've come a long way in my spinning since I made this yarn (probably over 10 years ago).
I love spinning singles, but I do not love plying them into yarn. :P
(No advice, please. These are simply statements of fact.)

Some homespun wool yarn that I finished this morning. #fiberart #knitting #crochet #HandSpunYarn #handspunhandknit #wool
Y'all, I combed some more #wool and went and spun it and I feel like I've discovered sorcery! This is so exciting! ๐๐

I really have no clue what I'm doing. I feel like I stop and start all the time and that I'm on a freaking stair-stepper.
