My doctor cursed me.
The last time I saw him he mentioned that my iud was due for changing. I said that I was happy to keep it until it stopped working because hopefully it would just see me out to menopause as they can last up to 10 years. He said that as long as I understand that it probably isn't going to effectively cover as a contraception for that long he couldn't see an issue with seeing if it would last me.
It's 2 weeks later and I have cramps and spotting, and am in a FOUL mood.
I'm making an appointment to get it changed asap because I have absolutely zero interest in dealing with periods again.
Fuck you, uterus.

Women’s Health Issues are Minimized and Ignored
This is a heartbreaking story about an IUD that caused suicidal thoughts so that’s a content warning.
What really gets me is that her medical professionals ignored her at first. Although after reading Invisible Women this doesn’t surprise me at all because it documents so many ways the experiences of women are deemed “too complicated” or “all in your head” by the medical world and thus women just live with crappy healthcare.
Xyla’s videos are awesome and I’m glad she’s healthy and back.
If you’re dude and haven’t read Invisible Women, do it. Start to understand how the women around you are discounted daily.
