Right-wing conspiracy theorist Alex Jones has asked the US Supreme Court to put on pause the nearly $1.5bn (£1.1bn) defamation judgment against him that is forcing the sale of his Infowars media company.
Jones was ordered to make the payout in 2022 for claiming the 2012 mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School was a hoax.

My understanding is this would revert FSS/InfoWars to property of Jones. Would also allow the Sandy Hook families to pursue FSS and its assets in state court. Those assets would be unprotected from forced transfer or liquidation. Jones may choose to dissolve the LLC and force families to liquidate assets one by one.
Tuesday’s White House press release focuses solely on the “radical left” without mentioning incidents of right-wing extremism in Portland and elsewhere. In 2017, two people were killed and one was seriously injured while defending two young women from white supremacist stabber Jeremy Christian on a MAX train. The 2022 shooting at Normandale Park left two people dead at the hands of a right-wing assailant. And, while the federal government has accused protesters of assaulting Department of Homeland Security officers at recent demonstrations in Portland, some federal agents have used violent force on people protesting peacefully.
