So I didn't figure out #mermay was a thing until, like, yesterday. Which is a shame because mermaids are my go-to fun drawing thing. I feel like attempting an art challenge? June has #junicorn, #junebug and #kaijune but I don't have 30 of those in me. I might try my own thing and do #juneblooms. If it has a flower it qualifies. Simple.

I've yet to complete an #inktober so expectations should be low for finishing this challenge, but what the heck. Miss all the shots you don't take.

The insects are extra active in the woods this time of the year, including this June bug (Figeater?) on the trail. The way its colors change with light is just amazing. My pictures don't capture it well, but I tried.

The pictures in the light (where the bug looks reddish) don't have enough definition. I was too focused on the body colors.
