I'm in the process of cleaning up my #KeePass database after introducing myself to its more modern features (passkeys support, browser integration via its extension, Android credential API (whatever it's called) support). I've got stuff in here from 2011. Fifteen years is a helluva long time for a file format and application to stay relevant in this world. Congratulations!

And many thanks to #KeePassXC, #KeePassDX, and #SyncThing for making maintenance and longevity of what amounts to "the keys to the kingdom" a relatively seamless and painless process, 15 years and counting, across numerous devices. There was a period of time where I was using the #Mono builds of the KeePass application too, so props to that project too.

#Datev empfiehlt Leuten für die Einrichtung den invasiven #GoogleAuthenticator für ganz normales #TOTP.

Und der tolle Authenticator erlaubt es einem nicht, das Secret zu exportieren und woanders, zB. in #Aegis oder #KeepassDX zu verwenden.

Und ausschalten kann man TOTP auch nicht?

warning to #KeepassDX users, the current version adds a pointless user verification step to copying a password. it's being removed in the next verison, wait for 4.3.1 to drop if you haven't upgraded yet.

Gut ist: selbst mit nicht IT'lern kann man mittlerweile über sichere Passwörter reden!

Auseinandersetzen mit anderer Leute #KeePassDX-Cloudsynchronisierung:

Wenn in der #Nextcloud liegende & direkt von KeePassDX dort genutzte #Passwort-Datenbank lokal auf Android gespeichert wird, lässt sie sich nicht mehr mit Passwort öffnen. Fehlt lokal ein Cloud sync key? Wo ist der? Lösungsvorschläge?

Telefonat mit Ärztin zu Doctolib mit anhören (und einsteigen, weils nicht auszuhalten ist):

Patientin hat mündlich Termin vereinbaren wollen & ausdrücklich verlangt, dass dieser nicht in #Doctolib eingepflegt wird. Am nächsten Tag bekam sie eine Email zum Termin von Doctolib.

Ärztin meint, es gäbe ja keine funktionierende Alternative, die kompatibel mit Aktenverwaltungssystem der Praxis wäre. Digitalisierung müsste ja sein, wäre ja Pflicht: Epa, Krankschreibung,...

-> Problem ist: Patientin hat mehrfach betont, sie will nicht, dass Doctolib genutzt wird für ihre Daten, es wurde trotzdem dort eingepflegt von der Praxis. Wenn #Digitalisierung nicht mit sicheren Methoden und Plattformen gemacht wird, dann stehen halt bald alle Gesundheitsdaten im Internet, und Leute können damit z.B. erpresst werden.

Ärztin meinte, man könnte sich ja andere Praxis suchen, wenn man Sorgen hat, dass Datenschutz durch #Doctolib nicht gewährleistet wird.

-> Geht aber nicht, wenn kommerzielle Dienstleister wie Doctolib einen Markt erobert haben, Regulierung nicht eingreift & #Datenschutz ignoriert wird.

Ein Argument mehr um dem Open-Source Passwort-Manager @keepassxc & Co zu vertrauen. Immer noch wird dis verhältnismässig von wenigen priv. & geschäftlich eingesetzt.

So far, I have used two password managers. #ProtonPass & #BitWarden & #KeePassDX. I use a Samsung device btw. None worked good for me to be honest. In case of Proton Pass, passwords don't show up while I'm on a signup or login page for me even when I have literally saved them! It's pretty frustrating. They show up like less than 20% of the time. And in case of Bitwarden, I installed it from Aurora Store and the app wasn't even working properly. I tapped on the buttons and they didn't react to my taps at all. So I deleted it and reinstalled from F-Droid through the Bitwarden F-Droid Repo. Then it worked the first time and only that time. I signed in to my account in Bitwarden. And also saved a few passwords. I closed the app. I went to some signup and login pages on my browser, but autofill didn't show up in this case either. Then I opened the app again. I entered my Master Password. But the Unlock button isn't responding even when I tapped on it again and again. In case of KeePassDX, the app won't respond to my taps at many times and again, passwords don't show up while I'm on a signup or login page.

And that's my experience. Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated.

Soeben habe ich wieder mal bei #Keepass2Android wegen der Implementierung von #Passkey​s geschaut: Die soll anscheinend kurz vor der Veröffentlichung stehen! #KeePassDX kann es übrigens schon, es geht voran. Dann warte ich mit einem Wechsel.

Digo "parece", porque estoy meridianamente seguro que la guarde en mi #keepassDX, pero ahora ya no me funciona
