I was very happy using #keepassxc on my pc and #keepassdx on my phone. I even recommended it.

The use of LLMs for coding is a waste of energy and water, the data centers are HIGHLY CONTAMINATING and increases #globalwarming.

If your code contains a single byte generated by an LLM, I will uninstall it inmediately, considering it a virus malware. And I will tell the people I recommended it to do the same.

And publicly will say that no one should use it or donate to it.

Maybe, this way, you get how serious it is.

Das blöde ist: Mit für #Passkey konfigurierten #KeePassDX unter #Android kann nun kein #Yubikey mehr bei Anmeldungen benutzt werden. Wüsste nicht, wie das umkonfiguriert werden kann. Jemand eine Idee?

@kuketzblog Leider kann #KeepassDX noch immer nicht mehreren Datenbanken gleichzeitig öffnen. Deswegen muss ich leider bei #Keepass2Android bleiben.

Registrations of non-discoverable passkeys are now supported by #Vanadium:

The non-discoverable keys are often used without PIN as a 2FA, like on Codeberg, Gitea, etc. Or they are used with a PIN but after requesting the username, like on Nextcloud.

Using non-discoverable key with a PIN after requesting the username has the advantage to not use one of the slots of the key manager - which are often limited on hardware tokens - but may allow someone to verify if a username is known by the application (most of the time, this is possible with other features too). So it can be a great compromise, especially if the user is able to choose what kind of key they want to use.

It's now possible to register them on any credential manager (like #KeePassDX or #HWFido2Provider)

For the record, Firefox has fixed it recently too

Nun endlich Passkeys auch auf dem Smartphone nutzbar und dies ohne kommerziellen Drittanbietern. Die Desktop Variante @keepassxc unterstützt Passkeys schon länger. Ich vertraue denen mehr obwohl deren Nutzung minimal umständlicher ist.

I use KeepassXC (+KeepassDX on AOSP) together with NextCloud for synchronisation.
This works great, except for the fact that I would like to use hardware security tokens.
While Keepass XC & DX support hardware keys.. they actually don't because they only support one hardware key, singular.
And that is my issue!
What if I lose it?!?

Does anyone have a better setup?

There is hope, though! The more recent and much cheaper FIDO2-only keys should all support the standardised hmac-secret extension, which would mean you can use almost any hardware key in the future.

Work for supporting #FIDO2 hmac-secret in both #KeePassXC and #KeePassDX is ongoing.

This would finally enable us to have a true passwordless password manager!
