Es macht keinen Spass mit dem #Passwortmanager #KeepassDX unter #Android sich auf Webseiten mit #Firefox einzuloggen. Sehr oft wird ein Login- bzw. Passwordfeld erst nach dem zweiten Reload der Webseite erkannt. Kennt jemand den Grund dafür?

Und wenn man schonmal dabei ist - warum das nicht als Anlass nehmen, einen Passwortmanager einzurichten? Zum Beispiel #KeepassXC (Desktop) und/oder #KeepassDX (Android)? Das #Keepass-System braucht keinen Server, und man muss auch kein Abo abschließen. 😊

Und idealerweise speicherst du für deine langen und zufälligen Passwörter (von denen du jedes nur an einem Ort benützt, gell!) in einen Passwort-Manager wie z.B. #KeePassDX und #KeePassXC ab. Wichtig ist dann vorallem ein sehr gutes Passwort für den Passwort-Manager und ein zuverlässiges Backup.

If you have a working #syncthing (syncthing-fork android is aalways killed in background) then #keepassdx and #keepassxc work very well.

Recently I overhauled my databases, merged all the sync conflicts to get all the random passwords I had missed. Works!

Well Apple having a single ecosystem and being product-first doesnt help here. They have a lot of stuff like Airdrop or iMessage that can be replaced but not easily

GrapheneOS is not google-based, but that comes at the "cost" of no integrated cloud storage, backup, transfer etc.

Also small things like a well integrated and working password manager, #KeepassDX and #Bitwarden are okay replacements, probably more secure but less easy

Die Nutzung von Webseitenlogins in #Android ist alles andere nutzerfreundlich. Wenn ich eine Loginseite im #Browser aufrufe muss ich erstmal den Button "mit KeepassDX anmelden" drücken. Wieso erkennt der #Passwortmanager nicht bereits den existierenden Eintrag zum Login. Danach den Eintrag auswählen in #KeepassDX, dann nochmal auswählen. Jetzt wird der Loginname und Passwort eingetragen. Anmeldebutton drücken und erst jetzt ist man eingeloggt. Das Prozedere ist einfach bescheiden und es nervt.

Bitwarden's upcoming change, that you need to verify login on a new device, kind of defeats my use case of the service.

Since I don't know the password for my email (it's in my password manager), I could potentially be locked out of my account and passwords.

Going back to KeepassXC/KeepassDX again.

Samsung 54A 5g, stock android (with most G*gl and Samsung options deactivated). The database transferred via KDE Connect. In the beginning it worked perfectly, KeePass DX 4.1.1. libre integrated with DuckDuck Go browser.
Suddenly, I cannot open the database anymore. Phone restart did not help.

@LisaKalayji I'm using #KeepassDX https://www.keepassdx.com/ which is a full password manager, but it also allows #TOTP entries to be stored. So all my Authenticator style secrets are in there except for Microsoft, who just hate standards.
