We recommended Lorcan Dempsey's outstanding new piece on , where he synthesizes many developments & key questions; particularly take note of context number five "AI is weird," which captures some important insights that are not discussed enough. lorcandempsey.net/generative-a

A facet of string theory is that there are multiple universes and realities surrounding us, each vibrating in a different way that separates our reality from the others. With the PolarisTransactions database, the theory is that you need just one more table and a few reference codes and maybe, just maybe, you’ll get the complete picture of what’s going on.

Anything is possible.

So let’s have a look at the TransactionDetailStrings table.

Do I know any #digitalhumanities or #librarytech people in Innsbruck, Austria? I might have a couple of days in February to talk about #crowdsourcing, #digitaleditions, #transcription, or #iiif there.

Never really did a proper #introduction before. Let's see ...

#retrocomputing
#videotex
#telidon
#ScienceFiction
#CatPics
#LibraryTech
#libraries
#archives
#museums
#cycling

... so, nothing too remarkable then ... 🙂

@lakens @mike @rmounce I don't understand why you wouldn't list the Digital Object Identifier (DOI) as a resolvable Uniform Resource Identifier (URI)? What would be the use case for hashing DOI vs plaintext DOI vs resolvable DOI?
