@christianartists I'm getting a *little* better at my digital drawings, I think! I just finished this one around 11PM on Monday, June 2. Hope you like it! 😄 It took me a couple of weeks, but it was a lot of fun! 😄🐞🐞🐞 The Alt Text tells a little more about it. 😄

@acm_redfox "Researchers observed that larval lacewings that do feed on [oleander aphids] may not mature normally, that ladybug larvae may have deformed wings as adults, and that afflicted spiders spin aberrant webs." https://uwm.edu/field-station/bug-of-the-week/oleander-aphid/
It seems that some ladybugs can be harmed by oleander aphids, although perhaps others can tolerate their poisons.
Which bugs, ladybugs or otherwise, can eat these aphids without taking damage? It's not clear to me.
Third post on ladybirds in NZ and Beau Vista cider orchard!! This time to note NZ has a native endemic ladybird. Coccinella leonina, common called the orange-spotted ladybird. It is black with orange spots. They mainly feed on aphids but also mites, mealybugs, scale insects and even powdery mildew. Not common but seen each year😊. #ladybirds #ladybugs #orchard #NewZealand
