Just used the last of the last jar of #Lipton Unsweetened Instant Tea I had in the house. It was handy to make iced tea by the glass. Unfortunately, unless they un-discontinue it, I can't buy more. Been buying it for decades. ☹

またしても台湾土産になりますが、初めて行った時にも買ってきて良かったので、行くたびに買っているのが台湾リプトンローストウーロンミルクティーという、粉末タイプのミルクティーです。

烏龍茶葉を焙煎したほうじ茶のミルクティーということになりますが、ほうじ茶の香ばしさや、鼻に抜ける烏龍茶の香りが、お湯を注ぐだけで手軽に楽しめる商品で、甘さ控えめのミルクティーになっているのもいいところです。日本人の間でも台湾土産の定番となっているようですが、私は台北のカルフール(家楽福)でまとめ買いしています。なお、同じシリーズでジャスミンティーや抹茶、そしてもちろん普通の紅茶のミルクティーもありますが、この焙煎烏龍茶のものが一番美味しく、お土産向きではないかと思います。

烏龍茶をミルクティーにするという発想は日本ではあまり一般的ではないと思いますが、さらに焙煎というのも珍しいのではないでしょうか。その辺りも含めて台湾のお茶文化の奥行きを感じるところですが、タピオカミルクティーの存在を考えればありそうなものです。ちなみに台湾のミルクティーは烏龍茶以外にも様々なお茶から選べるのが一般的ですが、そこまでは日本には入ってきていませんでしたよね。

15袋入りでAmazonだと1500円以上なのでちょっと高いですが、Taiwan Loveでは1000円を切る価格になっていますし、現地ではもっと安かったはずなので気軽に飲むことができますし、バラマキ土産にもいいのではないでしょうか。若干嵩張るのでスーツケースを圧迫しますが、適度に台湾らしさがあっていいと思います。

I've been buying #Lipton Unsweetened Iced Tea mix since I was a teenager, since it was convenient to make by the glass. They've suddenly discontinued it for some reason. Don't really feel like brewing tea, considering how much of it I drink, so guess I'll start buying gallon jugs of already prepared unsweetened tea at the grocery store. Lipton lost a customer.
