Eine schlechte Nacht auf unebenem Boden, ein chaotisch gespanntes Tarp und ein holpriger Morgen – der zweite Tag auf dem Trail startete alles andere als ideal.

Nach rund 25 Kilometern und 619 Höhenmetern schlugen wir unser Lager in Flussnähe auf – im Sand, mit viel Wind und noch mehr Steinen zum Befestigen des Tarps.

We're playing the "Is it covid?" game again..

I spent time in a car with 7 other people on Monday when I dropped the car in to be serviced, and I was the only one masked (of course).

I feel like shit now - headache, temperature, body aches, exhausted. The initial test is negative, so here's hoping it's a fibro flare up and nothing else.

Greg arrives on the 8th for 3 weeks, so if I have covid I'm going to be pissed.. It took me almost 8 weeks to get over it when I got it in 2022, and I don't want to miss out in time with him.

Heute bin ich wieder mal ein 200er #Brevet bei Audax Suisse mitgefahren. Das sogenannte „Border Bash Thurgau“. Es hatte einen Gravel Anteil von etwa 14% war aber mit meinem Rennrad und 25er Reifen mit etwas über 5 Bar gut fahrbar. #Randoneur #Longdistance #fedibikes

Wer mit dem Gedanken spielt eine #Langstrecke auf dem #Fahrrad anzugehen, sollte mal bei #DotWatcher rein schauen. #Rennrad, #MTB, #Gravel, Eintägig oder Mehrtägig, für alle ist was dabei. Mit ein wenig Training sind 180 -200 km auf dem Rennrad auch mit 5000 hm gut zu schaffen. Und spätestens dann hat man Blut geleckt.

Phone companies in general are pretty famous for charging extra for absolutely anything they can get away with. It was worse forty years ago, when many things people today assume are an essential part of the basic service were optional add-ons.

Monopolies didn't help, either. For example, I had a girlfriend who lived *just* outside of my local calling area, in a town about 65 kilometers / 40 miles away. It was in the same province, so the phone company had a monopoly on calls from her to me, or me to her. If I waited until after midnight, the rates were 60% off, so it would only cost me about $0.32 *per minute* to call her. During the day, it was $0.78 per minute.

This was at a time when the minimum wage was $4.25 per hour. So working for an hour meant I could call her for five minutes during the day - without accounting for income tax eating some of it.

In comparison, they didn't have a monopoly on calls to or from places outside the province. So I could call L.A., thousands of kilometers away, for about $0.25 per minute during the day.

Just want to say a big thanks to everyone as I have just hit 5000 subscribers on Youtube, it's been a slow road, and a lot of hard work to get the films and documentaries out in to the world, but so worth it!

Another few films and documentaries to be released this year with a couple already filmed and a couple more to document.

And it was this time last year myself and two friends @trailrunforlife and @benwildimages was just about to set off through mid Wales to see if it was possible to attempt The Three Hunters story from the Lord of the Rings and try and run 45 leagues (215km) in less than 72 hours.

Unfortunately it wasn't the finish we wanted but we did manage half-way in distance and whilst still on track for time, the weight of our packs, the poor weather and hard going underfoot conditions slowly ground the bodies down, mine especially!

It was still an incredible adventure and a great time shared with friends in the great outdoors, which is hard to beat!

Maybe we'll attempt this another day, but for now, the challenge still awaits those who are ready to take it on.

And next video will be on Youtube in early March whilst I try and stick to my consistent video releases of at least one per month throughout the year.
