@nclm You already nuked my timeline on mastodon with the crowdsourcing of profiles pictures.

On #Friendica this was a non issue because these comments were all just comments on a post i have read, but on #Mastodon each comment stood on my feed.

#MonaApp shows the replies with the original post, so the screen space used by that action took hundreds of pages of my feed.

I could reduce that s bit by muting @_elena so i would not see the original post again and again in my feed - but all “use my pic” posts were still there.

Feature request to #MastodonClients of the world: please allow to mute whole threads and comments.

[Edit: solved] The Google Play Store broke something while trying to update @moshidon even though it was installed through F-Droid, which broke the app and the ntfy notification setup I had implemented. Had to uninstall Moshidon from scratch, but with ntfy or not, now no notifications come through.
Google is always messing with things it shouldn't, why? How can I solve this? Anyone? Thank you in advance.

Mastodon web client says I still have 279 chars left, Ivory and Toot! show the same amount. Mona says I have only 2chars left for my reply. Do I miss something?

@sinky And ended up installing IceCube and cancelling the Ivory subscription. IceCube is closer to Mammoth and how I want to approach Mastodon. A «better for me» experience.

Last month I had to uninstall sengi-bin aur package, because it had some dependencies that electron23 required preventing me to upgrade my system, pacman trow the following error message:

error: failed to prepare transaction (could not satisfy dependencies)
:: installing icu (76.1-1) breaks dependency 'libicui18n.so=75-64' required by electron23
:: installing icu (76.1-1) breaks dependency 'libicuuc.so=75-64' required by electron23
:: installing flac (1.5.0-1) breaks dependency 'libFLAC.so=12-64' required by electron23

Since the only app that required electron23 was sengi-bin I had to remove the only mastodon client that works well on my old system. 🥹

Luckily Sengi is available as an appimage, from now on I'm going to use it this way. 😌😊

Trying out @ivory now that all my Macs run Sonoma & because @MonaApp keeps doing infuriating 4-coreX100% beachballs lasting up to a minute while editing toots & opening media. Has hangs mid-typing on #iOS too, which I wouldn’t think could be the same thing

I kinda miss some of the configurability already but being able to type & edit a whole toot w/o hanging is a very nice feature. Even with limited font choice and entirely inflexible columns. #MacOS #MastodonClients

Not an endorsement but Openvibe is an #Android app that lets you log into both #Bluesky and #Mastodon at once. I'm currently trying it.

It makes a single timeline for posts at both sites.

I'm not really into its aesthetic choices, but it is functional so far. Haven't figured out cross posting.

Does anyone use Pachli?

I saw it in the app store, and I was surprised because it has multiple indicators that say it can share data with third parties which is unusual for any other app for Mastodon that I have seen.

I wish #Mastodon clients when replying in thread would place the replied to account name first, then two empty lines, then remaining account names, and position the write cursor on the first empty line. More friendly to recipients.

Yes, Phanpy offers a convincing Mastodon interface. The developer has really thought about the design issues posed by Mastodon and has resolved them in a fresh way, unhindered by previous designs.

I love the way Boost are separated out from new posts via an orthogonal scrolling wheel --- it lets me have access to those boosts but gives proper emphasis to the original posts of my followed accounts.

Lately I get these error messages a lot more frequently.

Sometimes when I search for a keyword and when I compose a toot with hashtags the autocomplete simply stop working the onlything that happens it gives the following error message:
"http failure response for https://hachyderm.io/api/v2/search/q=sengi7resolve=true: 500 internal server error"

I can't view sometimes my own account and I get the following error message:
"account couldn't be found."
