Agi: Ecco perché il petrolio finora non è salito a 100 dollari

AGI - La guerra in Medio Oriente non è solo una faccenda di petrolio, ma certo c'è parecchio interesse dietro questa materia prima e gli esperti s'interrogano sui motivi per cui il prezzo del greggio non ha raggiunto il livello simbolicamente importante di 100 dollari al barile, aumentando solo del 30% dall'inizio dei combattimenti, un rialzo contenuto, che impallidisce di fronte agli altri storici shock petroliferi.
Innanzitutto l'embargo del 1973-74, che fece impennare i prezzi del 260%. E poi i disordini seguiti alla rivoluzione iraniana del 1979, che determinarono un balzo di circa il 160% e l'invasione irachena del Kuwait nel 1990 che innescò un aumento del 180%.
La dipendenza dal petrolio mediorientale
Una possibile spiegazione è che il mondo è cambiato e le economie sviluppate sono molto meno dipendenti dal petrolio mediorientale. Gli Stati Uniti sono ora il maggiore produttore mondiale di greggio e nuovo petrolio sta arrivando sul mercato da Guyana, Brasile e Canada. Inoltre la Casa Bianca, in vista delle elezioni di medio termine di novembre, ha un forte incentivo a tenere sotto controllo l'inflazione. E qualsiasi aumento sostenuto dei prezzi petroliferi viene stroncato sul nascere ed è mitigato dai rilasci della Riserve Strategiche Petrolifere degli Stati Uniti.
Lo stretto di Hormuz
Tuttavia gli esperti ritengono che, se lo Stretto di Hormuz rimanesse bloccato per due settimane, alcuni paesi del Golfo esaurirebbero le scorte e sarebbero costretti a chiudere la produzione nei loro giacimenti, il che farebbe salire il petrolio oltre i 100 dollari al barile. L'ipotesi per ora resta piuttosto remota. E lo scenario base di Wang Zhuwei, ricercatore del trading petrolifero di S&P Global Energy, è che il Brent rimarrà nella fascia tra gli 80 e i 90 dollari al barile, a patto che le spedizioni via Hormuz possano essere ripristinate in tempi relativamente rapidi, poiché un'interruzione prolungata spingerebbe i prezzi sopra i 100 dollari.
Le previsioni a breve termine
Tuttavia una de-escalation al momento non è prevista e nel breve termine, gli analisti prevedono che i combattimenti continueranno. However, experts believe that if the Strait of Hormuz remained blocked for two weeks, some Gulf countries would exhaust their stockpiles and be forced to shut down production in their fields, which would drive oil prices above $100 per barrel. The hypothesis remains quite remote for now. And the base scenario of Wang Zhuwei, a trading researcher at S&P Global Energy, is that Brent will remain in the range of $80 to $90 per barrel, provided that shipments via Hormuz can be restored relatively quickly, as a prolonged interruption would push prices above $100.

Short-Term Forecasts

However, a de-escalation is not expected at the moment, and in the short term, analysts predict that fighting will continue. Here is the most realistic forecast, according to the prediction of Carlos Bellorin, an analyst at the energy data company Welligence: “If you observe the trend and evolution of the situation, it is possible that oil will rise above $95 by the end of the week.”

Il Tempo: Crosetto rientra in Italia con un volo militare: “Da sinistra polemiche basse e vergognose”

Guido Crosetto era rimasto bloccato negli Emirati Arabi Uniti per via degli attacchi dell'Iran sui paesi del Golfo in risposta all'attacco di Israele e Iran. A fornire un aggiornamento sulla propria situazione è lo stesso ministro della Difesa con un post su X: “Sto rientrando in Italia continuando a gestire da ieri la situazione delicata con tutti gli strumenti tecnici necessari per farlo anche all'estero. Rientrerò come ovvio da solo, per evitare l'esposizione ad ulteriori pericoli ad altri che viaggiando con me in condizioni attuali possono essere messi a rischio. Lo farò ovviamente con un aereo militare, e lascerò qui la mia famiglia (che comprende la scelta), dopo essermi sincerato che per loro, come per gli altri cittadini italiani e stranieri, non ci siano rischi rilevanti se non quelli di nefasta casualità. Continuo a lavorare, per loro come per altri, per trovare una soluzione veloce e sicura a totale supporto dell'unità di crisi della Farnesina".

"Rientrerò – ha aggiunto ancora sui social - utilizzando un volo militare ma dopo aver bonificato (un'ora fa) al Comando del 31esimo stormo di Ciampino un importo triplo (per mia scelta) rispetto a quello che prevede la tariffa per gli ospiti dei voli di Stato, in modo tale da togliere anche la possibilità di attaccarmi dicendo che sono tornato usando un volo di Stato - sottolinea -. Trovo vergognoso e basso questo modo di fare polemica e vorrei rassicurare sul fatto che non prendo lezioni da nessuno per senso dello Stato e delle istituzioni ed ancor meno per la quantità dell'impegno e per la dedizione all'Istituzione. Sulla qualità diranno altri”.

"Non penso si possa strumentalizzare una situazione creatasi per eventi, l'attacco a Dubai, che non erano considerati tra le ipotesi di risposta iraniana, nelle tempistiche e nei modi con cui sono avvenuti e si sono concretizzati, proprio perché nell'ultima crisi, più violenta di questa, gli Emirati furono esclusi dalla reazione e l'aeroporto di Dubai rimase aperto", afferma ancora Crosetto su X. "Ciò detto la mia presenza qui ieri e questa notte è stata utile nella gestione della crisi in corso e nei rapporti con gli Emirati. Così come lo sono state le interlocuzioni con i miei colleghi europei e mediorientali oggi e quella che avrò con il Pentagono questa sera tardi", conclude il ministro.

Guido Crosetto had been stranded in the United Arab Emirates due to Iran’s attacks on Gulf countries in response to the Israeli and Iranian attack. Defense Minister Crosetto himself provided an update on his situation via X: “I am returning to Italy while continuing to manage the delicate situation since yesterday, using all the necessary technical tools, even abroad. I will return, of course, alone, to avoid exposing others to further dangers that could be put at risk if traveling with me in the current conditions. I will do so, naturally, by military aircraft, and I will leave my family here (who have made the choice), after ensuring that for them, and for other Italian and foreign citizens, there are no significant risks beyond those of sheer bad luck. I continue to work, for them and for others, to find a quick and safe solution with full support from the Farnesina’s crisis unit.”

“I don’t think one can exploit a situation created by events, the attack on Dubai, which were not considered among the Iranian response hypotheses, in the timelines and ways in which they occurred and materialized, precisely because in the last crisis, more violent than this, the United Arab Emirates were excluded from the reaction and the Dubai airport remained open,” Crosetto continued on X. “That said, my presence here yesterday and tonight has been useful in managing the ongoing crisis and in relations with the United Arab Emirates. As have been the contacts with my European and Middle Eastern colleagues today and that I will have with the Pentagon this evening.” The Minister concluded.
