I fibbed. One more. The debut from Sharp Class and, in my opinion, their best so far. Listening to this I feel 17 again. Hard to explain how good this is, but anybody my age who was in to the scene back then will LOVE this #vinyl #ModRevival #xp

Now on to the brilliant Sharp Class before we eat. I wrote about this band on my blog recently, a modern day mod revival band that are absolutely smashing it out of the park. #vinyl #ModRevival #xp #SharpClass

The release kicks off an archival series featuring newly remixed, remastered, and previously unheard material, honoring the band whose sound transcended the mod scene and built a devoted following beyond the underground.

Last one for now. Cleaning my mod revival collection (in case you didn’t realise) and this is one of my all time favourites. Mick Talbot’s first band. Just fantastic tunes for the era. We loved it. #MertonParkas #vinyl #ModRevival #xp

In the City is the debut studio album by the English band the Jam. Released in May 1977 by Polydor Records...

Upon its release, In the City received all-round positive reviews. Phil McNeil from the NME said that Paul Weller's songwriting "captures that entire teen frustration vibe with the melodic grace and dynamic aplomb of early Kinks and Who". Brian Harrigan of Melody Maker was equally impressed, remarking that Weller's songs "are anything but an embarrassment" and that "he has a deft touch that places his material on a much higher plateau". In Record Mirror, Barry Cain opined: "Armed and extremely dangerous The Jam stalk the decrepit grooves... if you don't like them hard luck coz they're gonna be around for a long time... It's been a long time since albums actually reflected pre-20 delusions"... - Wikipedia

The Lambrettas - Beat Boys In The Jet Age

The Lambrettas were actually discovered, if that’s the right word, by the relatively new Rocket Record Company. Elton John’s label formed in 1973. The story is that they sent flyers around and leaflet dropped asking bands to call the studio number, 499 2139, and put an advertisement in Melody Maker hoping to attract new talent...

🇬🇧 The Manish Boys/Davy Jones & The Lower 3rd – 1982 (recordings from 1965) - 10"

Raw and brimming with mod energy, this early glimpse of David Bowie (as Davy Jones) captures the sound of mid-60s British R&B and beat music in full swing. Gritty vocals, sharp suits, and swinging London vibes. Bowie’s roots on full display.
