Odin and his brothers created the Nine Worlds, but only Odin is left to rule them. For all his power, he knows that his worlds will come crashing down around him and there is nothing he can do to stop it. Nonetheless, he will try.

The source of his greatest fear? A small, strange boy who just wants to be free.

Zeus asks very good question in Thor: Love and Thunder in post-titles moment: "when we become joke for people?"
But he shown as a quite bad character there. And by obvious reasons he can't understand that when you stop to care about the people, they send you GFY, and never come back.
it very well applies to politics, generally.

Blessings on Tyr's Day.

Though twilight come
Be that hand which stems
The bleeding of the day
Into nightfall before its time;
Though all must fall,
Be yet the speaker and doer
Whose words and deeds
Bind the ravening jaws
That would devour the sun.

Mani's Day blessings.

Darkness gets a bad rap. Many religious creeds damn the darkness as the source of all that is corrupt. Truth is that light and darkness are not foes. As Mani shows, the deeper the darkness, the brighter his light. For light and darkness are bound in eternal wedlock

Loki cannot be understood in isolation. He is an outsider, but one deeply embedded among the Aesir. He can simultaneously resolve and create mischief. His actions can uphold the order of society or turn it upside down.

I've looked at the origins of the Nine Worlds (Part I), taken a high-level view of Old Norse mores and views on fate (Part II), considered the characters of both Odin and Loki (Parts III and IV), and discussed the social and physical destruction of Fimbulvetr and Ragnarok (Part V).

Now, Part VI of the Master of Mischief series draws from all of these elements to expose the foppish Loki as the mirror image of powerful Odin and to help us better understand his role in the downfall of the gods.

Hail Freya-Frigg on Freya-Frigg’s Day!

A soft breeze
Tinged yet with heat
Sweeps the fen with promise;
A pledge,
A herald,
A whispered vow
Of the Goddess
Embracing the world.

According to Old Norse mythology, the Nine Worlds both begin and end in fire and ice. Following the death of Odin's son Baldur, the gods endure the hardships of a three-year winter before meeting their enemies for the last time at Ragnarök. These events reveal what may have been the Vikings' greatest fear -- chaos and societal decay.

Götterdämmerung, the twilight of the Gods, serves as a timely warning. For if even the Gods themselves must fall, how much more shall those weak men who act as though they were gods meet a certain demise.

The gods thought Baldr was untouchable—until a single dart of mistletoe changed everything. How did Loki’s trickery bring about the death of the most beloved god? And what does it mean for the fate of the world?

Loki is technically not a god -- he's a jotun, or what some call a "giant." Mind you, he's not actually a giant in stature, but he is a gigantic pain in the ass. Indeed, the wily trickster is the cause of, and solution to, all of life's problems, at least until he brings his brethren to Asgard to end the world.

Most of us are familiar with the modern pop culture version of Loki, but his mythological incarnation is considerably more complex and nuanced than many realize. Allow me to introduce you to a true medieval mischief maker. https://unaverdandi.com/2016/11/02/loki-charms/

Blessings on Mani‘s Day.

Nothing speaks to us more of the old magic than Mani‘s nocturnal light. Whispers from the deep wells of midnight stir in us memories of a lore etched into our bones. And pregnant with arcane knowledge, the darkness births in us the remembering of primal mysteries.

Odin, the sometimes ruthless chief of the Old Norse gods, was associated with many things, particularly war, death, wisdom, magic, and poetry. He was the co-creator of the Nine Worlds and, it seems, blood-brother to the one who would destroy them. His Machiavellian complexity sets the stage for the ultimate showdown at Ragnarok.

Come take a peek into the world of AllFather, the god with as many faces as names. https://unaverdandi.com/2016/08/29/odin/

Hail, Allfather this Odin‘s Day!

Make you a blood eagle
Of my ignorance,
And on those wings of failing wit,
As they breathe out their last
And exhale the bones
Of knowledge that is not,
May I soar to true realisation.
