How can digital technologies change the way we teach, learn and research? This question is the focus of a new seminar series launched by the Digital Education Research Initiative at Leibniz University Hannover (LUH) and the Lab Learning and Skill Analytics at the TIB – Leibniz Information Centre for Science and Technology.
“Bridging Minds and Machines – Digitization of Research and Education” is more than just a series of lectures. It offers a platform for researchers, practitioners and students from Hanover and the region to exchange ideas about current research projects, applications and developments in the field of digital education.
Building a community around digital education
The aim of the series is to create a lively, interdisciplinary community that deals with the central challenges of our time: Digital skills, AI in educational processes and the demands of the digital labor market.
Whether you are researching innovative teaching methods, developing educational technologies or are interested in how AI supports learning – for example in medicine or computer science: This series offers exciting insights and new perspectives.
Each event consists of a 30-minute presentation followed by a discussion and networking session to promote exchange between departments and institutions.
Kick-off event on 24 June 2025
The first Bridging Minds and Machines event will take place on 24 June 2025 from 16 to 18 in the TIB “Vortragsraum” (Welfengarten 1 B in Hannover). The 30-minute lecture will be broadcast online at the same time.
The first input will be provided by Dr. Scott Harrison with the lecture: “Future AI Skills: Examples from Medical Education”.
Everyone is invited – from experienced researchers and educators to students who are interested in the future of education.
The seminar series will take place every two months from now on.
