Almost 70% of EU households have fibre to the home, according to the EU Commission's new status report.
The target is 100% by 2030.

I've stopped working with obsolete xDSL network devices. I have an ISP Fiber who installed Fiber to the CURB and Fiber to the Home simultaneously just to make money. They installed the obsolete fiber to the curb systems to milk people into making them think that xDSL is a way for the future.
Meanwhile on quite stable 4G Networks they give the speeds that you see in the screenshot. I can reach more than 40 MBit per second! I would rather be ad hoc on the internet, then have a slow obsolete 10 MBit connection over two copper wires.
I am finally enjoying the internet again when it comes down to speed

Not to mention #Starlink is a #SpectrumPollutant and can only serve as means to #sabotage #Fiber deployment #ROI espechally in rural areas, thus increasing #DigitalDivide further by making #FTTB & #FTTH buildups (even with government subsidies) harder to justify.

La fibre optique, qui couvre aujourd'hui 90% du territoire français, est par endroits en danger. Les réseaux publics ruraux font face à une crise financière sans précédent, certains frôlant même la cessation de paiement.
Une révision des tarifs pourrait ainsi intervenir d'ici la fin de l'année.

Könnten die ganzen Internet-Anbieter mal aufhören, ihre alte Kupfertechnik als "Glasfaser-DSL" anzupreisen, nur weil der Verteilerkasten am Ende der Straße Glasfaser hat?
Jeder normale Mensch meint #FTTH, wenn er nach einem Glasfaseranschluss fragt.
Ein Auto wird ja auch nicht zu einem E-Auto nur, weil die Blechstanze für die Karosserie mit Strom angetrieben wurde.

Unfortunately, my internet router’s mainboard only has a USB 3.2 Gen 2x1 port (10 Gbps), not a USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 port (20 Gbps), otherwise that would have been a really cool way to bring a 20 Gbps connection to a normal laptop, without bulky extra hardware like SFP+ network cards.
Maybe with the next router build…
