In my spare time I've been playing around with a basketball stat-tracking app I built in mostly Vanilla JS and Bootstrap. Users interact with the app through a SVG canvas, where they can tap the court, select a player, and record an action. The results are tracked to show player stats at the end of the game.
I've been the only user so far, though I'm hoping to share soon with other parents. It is a PWA, offline app that stores data on the local device.

A web application is a software program that is accessed through a web browser and runs on a web server. The main difference is that a website is static and a web application is dynamic. A web application is more interactive and dynamic, often providing functionality, interactivity, and data processing beyond what a static website offers which often makes them more useful in various ways.
Should I Use A Website Or A Web App?
That decision is really up to you and what you need, want or prefer. Websites can certainly be useful or quick to use and navigate, while the web app version might give you more control as far as customization or even options and settings are concerned.
How To Install Web Apps On An Android Device
Special Note: Often times Android won’t allow you to install a web app if you’re not logged into your account via the browser you’re trying to install from. Therefore it’s always suggested to be logged into your server/instance first before attempting to install it as a web app.

As a #WebDev, I've been a fan of replacing Native Apps with #ProgressiveWebApps. I have been installing and using them whenever available since they were first announced.
Honestly, I'm beginning to wonder if #PWAs are even a good idea; I often find myself reaching for the browser toolbar which is unavailable in PWAs.
The only thing they do is provide a nice shortcut from the startmenu, or app launcher, but since most of the PWAs I use are social Media I don't even really *want* that!
