#Pycharm

@jetbrains for comparison: this is how it looks like when it's up and running.

  • And no, I cannot reproduce it, it's just that #PyCharm randomly decides to garble the credentials and not allow me to change/delete/add them unless I manually remove the settings files!

@jetbrains that #bug where #PyCharm randomly "forgets" the #logins and then requires me to manually yeet $HOME/.config/Jetrains/PyCharm.../options/github.xml & $HOME/.config/Jetrains/PyCharm.../options/gitlab.xml really pisses me off.

#plzfix that issue with your #snap version offered for #UbuntuLTS #Desktop!

indication of the bug: Pushes don't work and avatars for GitHub & GitLab users ain't shown.

Speechless. Use the #warp #terminal since it was released for windows. Now for the first time I skipped #pycharm and used #micro #editor now when running #ruff check and #ty, warp used the error messages and changed the code accordingly! It made sense was a good change. The proposed commit message could be better though. :awesome:

Using coverage in #pycharm is basically useless, if it ignores your configuration and doesn't hide or ignore the files you want't to get ignored. At least in a larger project, you get so much useless information. #python

Are you using #junie in #pycharm for #django development? Make sure you add a `junie/guidelines.md` file to get the most of out the agent.

Check out this new #JetBrains repo with tips: github.com/JetBrains/junie-gui

I would give a lot for a working coverage configuration with #pycharm. I can do what I want - everything that works in the shell, doesn't work in #pycharm. It simply ignore all the files I want it to ignore. The gluttered mess in this large project is not helpful.

Looks like someone at JetBrains let the server certificate on the Analytics service expire. This is a great reminder to disable analytics in your editors.

#pycharm #jetbrains #analytics

PyCharm popup dialog reading the following:

Untrusted Server's Certificate. Trying to connect to a server that uses an expired certificate. Proceeding may compromise the connection security. Save the certificate as trusted and proceed anyway? Server address: analytics.services.jetbrains.com.

PyCharm.

Some things that should be global settings in #pycharm:

- The option to clear the commit message after successfully committing changes. I don't want to set this in every project.
- The AI Prompt for the commit message. Yes, I share the very same across all projects.
- Checks for the commit message.

All this should be possible to set globally and overwrite on a project level. It is no fun at all to change it manually for like 25 projects in your IDE.

Hey #PyConUS we have ice cream at #PyCharm booth - come meet the @jetbrains team and have a chat with us

This it one of the little things that I appreciate in dedicated IDEs like #PyCharm.

Editing Nomad HCL file creates a custom header which provides the clear context of the job > group > task >...

Screenshot of a text editor. A red arrow in the screenshot points to a header block which has just the "job", "group", "task" and "volume_mount" lines visible. The current line being edited and rest of the document is rendered normally.

Hey @jetbrains, when are you gonna fix the #bug in #PyCharm where it randomly forgets #credentials and I can't just add them but have to delete the entire config files...

FIX YOUR STUFF FFS!

#Emacs is still hands down the best to organize your thoughts, plan your work and do quick-fixes. Perfect for debugging & maintenance tasks.

I pull out
#PyCharm only when I have a clear idea of what I am working on and I just need that IDE focused programming.
