A photograph of the object on display in museum mounts and lighting. It's a vaguely tongue-shaped piece, silver with selective gilding (or maybe just wear). The decoration is an islamic-looking allover repeat pattern of twisted cord net with a leaf and flower motif, possible derived from a textile pattern. It's dated to CE 900-930, a time before the Hungarian state existed in a recognisable form, when the Carpathian basin was being occupied by a coalition of tribes that claimed direct descent from Atilla the Hun, defeating various early European / late Roman armies claiming it. It's not known where the object originated but stylistically it's consistent with Samanid/Sogdian design.

I have been finding time to work on this art piece I wanted to make from earlier. Wouldn't you know it, but it fits perfectly in my bathroom.... as if I measured it beforehand ;)

As I listened to the "Rocks Off" song it was inspired by, I was thinking how that song is about a word Ted Gioia taught me- "Anhedonia" or the absence of enjoyment in an activity pursued for pleasure.

Nevvertheless, I am halfway done its other half... the Sunny side. I want to make a copy of it with a mirror in the middle... and I want to link them over the interwebs so that when one is on, the other is off. I think I might be able to do this with esp32s and "cloudflare workers" and not have to use little RPI boards an cloudflare tunnels.

I dream of the moon being in NYC and the sun being in Seattle and them turning each other on an off.
