#Readable

@josemurilo

Agreed.

It's funny that you use the term #readable here because if we think about some past civilizations, only scribes would be able to read and write, most people would be illiterate, and therefore unable to understand the forces that acted upon them. Even nowadays, that is a very big problem in many parts of the world. People often can't read and write their own native language, let alone foreign languages that sometimes are necessary.

That's why I like the term 'digital literacy'.

"There's a very strange thing that happens with #advancedtech, particularly #networked technologies. They get hidden away behind the glass. They become hidden within themselves and we no longer have access to them.
But something equally extraordinary happens the other way around, which is that if you start to understand them a little bit, all of these #power relationships become incredibly clear and #readable, and can actually be addressed in new ways." #JamesBridle

I have to #inline all the #tags for the #post or else they might not #fit. At least it stays #readable. If I put the #tags on the #end of the #post, then #clients might #parse them. I wouldn't #want them to be #cleanly #formatted on the #bottom. Thank #god I know how to #write a #good #post.

not done bc stuff is still hardcoded, and I do need to research a little bit more to figure out a better solution

looks suspiciously similar to @amin XML previews, perhaps

It look as there are many posts on this particular feed... the Top reads "Fbi's epic Blog", below that is an "RSS Feed Previews", shown as a subtitle to it.

Dear Friends not interested in infosec, :ablobcatcoffee:

As you may know, some people think closing off, hiding with obscurity, 10 factor
#verification and #encrypted this, that and the other is #progress?
Others try face, print and the latest I heard is verification through your typing in (not the sound) using Generative AI. Wot? Are you kidding?

What a pelluva. I am feeding the paranoids?
#Protecting myself from The Man? The State? Data miners? :anarchy:

And yeti ...
The world goes on, the kids use their phone apps and EFF this and that ...
I am starting my own instance/server BUT FIRST (yes shouting - oh dear) I have to be able to get into my own accounts. Stop using Google and American 'services' which don't work most of the time.
So for example Yandex (A rusky search engine) is better by far, than the ludicrously ad impeded google. Do no evil? They now do nothing but.

This is an open rant from lobster
🦞
Have a great day everyone. Be kinder than everyone else. That is a good goal and glad I am amongst such possibilities. That be you sah! oVER AND OUTA SPACE. Yeah not typing that again.
#Readable? #Understandable? Course it is ... ❤️

The #problem is when you #write #posts that #looklikethis, the #writing becomes #forced and #stilted. Those #hashtags become #harder to #ignore. It affects how #readable your #post is. #It looks like #you are #CloutChasing and #not #trying to #engage #organically. So just #PutTheTagsAtTheEnd.

@justinling IMHO, hashtags as metadata at the end of a post are a lot more palatable than #hashtags in the #middle of otherwise #readable sentences ...

@benjaminhollon @freedomtowrite I’ve been trying out #readable.css for my web site and #Hugo for my blog. Would be great if they had the same look and feel. The problem I have with Hugo is there is no archive feature out of the box and I don’t have the coding skills to write it myself. Unfortunately my site is not published on the web yet so I can’t share.

Added readable version of news item to my little Rust RSS Reader project. Uses readable-app/readability crate crates.io/crates/readable-read, which seems better than the other readability crates it dealing with non English characters. Doesn't cope with BBC news articles though, but neither can the others. #rust #rustlang #readability #readable

PHP Part 2:

Header and Footer are static; Update is where the last update date and any messsages go; form is where the button is that you use to trigger the script; main is where all the preformatted network data is dumped by my script.

With the help of #readable.css by the grace of @benjaminhollon, I had my network status page; it was amazing. I even got it into crontab the first time to run hourly.

It was beautiful. And obviously doomed.

Decided to look into finding #websites to #read #books , specifically #philosophy , and found out about #libgen . Sadly libgen's original website was taken down, so you have to find mirrors for it. Lots of books to #download to #learn, so that's cool.

Unsure of the #legality of the previous website, but this next website I can confidently #link

gutenberg.org/

#Gutenberg is a website that uses old books where their #US #copyright has #expired ! Therefore this website is perfectly legal all the way!

Of course the #UI is #ugly, so you can instead go to

standardebooks.org/

as they simply take gutenberg's books, and #formats them to something a little more #readable .

:comfyreading: 🤓 :bigbrain:

Anyone have good recommendations for philosophy or websites?
