Trying to understand a bit more about optical lenses and how they work, I realized that #rendering engines, which we consider incredibly realistic, are missing this entire sector. Well, at least I've proved that it's either #houdini or #renderman that is at fault for being unable to properly daisy chain a PxrShadowFilter and PxrImagePlaneFilter to do a holdout to comp CG elements on a plate in camera.
Y'know, the bread and buffer of #vfx... it should not be this difficult.
Is pity that #3delight don't have any support for #Blender, this render engine is used by many great #VFX studios, such as Image Engine, and I saw some of the best VXF done with it, for example District 9 astonished me with it's incredible realism, only Matt Ebb have done an exporter, which was also based the add-on for #RenderMan. #b3d #Blender3D

It never ceases to amaze me that #RenderMan for Maya can't render mayaUsdProxyShape nodes in the viewport even though RenderMan and #USD are made by the same company.
