I will post a link to the almost 40 min running #interview I've enhanced into #multimedial dimensions (no kidding – was more work than anticipated, but also fun) alongside the show within this threat here, when the time is right. It also has English subtitles (only here with editorial remarks).

(Err. Ich hab übrigens nur eine Stunde Zeit für die Sendung und Musik hat Priorität. Ich hab gerade mal gemessen – die Sendung habe ich gestern vorproduziert: Dem Thema "Sex, Hexen und Ringmodulatoren" räume ich fett knapp 2 min ein. Inklusive Musikbeispiele. Es lohnt sich also total!)

It was quite calming to create. I hope you enjoy it.
I replaced the 2xAAA batteries in my EZCZ memory card but too late. The patches are garbled, but no big deal the CZ101 is easy to program. The ezcz has 4 banks selected by dip switches, each with 16 patches for 64 sounds. I don't even bother with the internal memory (held by 6 D batteries,, not convenient).

If you guessed digital, you got that part right.
Casio VZ1 from the 1980s. IPD synthesis with ring modulation and 8 modules (or “operators” in yamaha dx speak). Taking phase distortion engine way beyond the casio CZ line (or yamaha dx for that matter).
I further used the TEAC reel to reel to change speed and alter the sound. External fx were lexicon vortex and reverb.
