Hier, j'ai fini Assassin's Fate de #RobinHobb. C'est la fin d'un marathon de #lecture commencé il y a 10 mois par Assassin apprentice.
3x3 tomes de Fitz à la première personne entrecoupés de romans chorales avec les aventuriers de la mer et les cités des anciens.
C'était très bien, avec beaucoup de jeux sur l'écriture, les modes de narration, des pistolets de Tchekhov partout. Des pertes de rythme aussi, et des incohérences. Mais les personnages et les sentiments sont si bien écrits !

Assassin's apprentice ilmestyi vuonna 1995. Suomeksi se ilmestyi 1996. Nyt kun lähes kaikki Elderlings-kirjat on saatavina suomeksi, ajattelin ottaa uusintakierroksen suomeksi. En ole Näkijän tarua lukuunottamatta lukenut muita kirjoja koskaan suomeksi, ja Näkijän tarunkin viime vuosituhannella. Muistaakseni luin AA ja RA suomeksi ja siirryin sitten englantiin, mutta suomennoksen tultua luin myös AQ suomeksi. Englanniksi on tullut luettua valtaosa kirjoista useaan kertaan.

Reading Ship of Destiny had been slow, so I'm only about halfway through. I got to the part where Selden is speaking to Tintaglia as she arrives to Bingtown and I can't help but think that Hobbs' dragons are like cats and how I'd imagine cats would like us to talk to them if they could tell us their preference.
"Oh magnificent one, your fur shines like the moon and the sun, your form is grace and beauty incarnate! Please bestow us the honour of doing your bidding in cleaning your toilet sand."

Mad Ship made me feel hopeful for this trilogy, but Ship of Destiny is dragging again and full of shitty entitled men as the main source of threat. My least favourite trope! The only correct amount of shitty entitled men in a series is one, and that only if they're killed by a slightly deranged ferret in the final book.
Wintrow is at least still interesting in all his tragic misery, whereas Althea and Brashen just make me want to skip all the parts they're in.
I even enjoyed Malta's parts before a shitty, entitled man happened. :'(

L’enfance et le destin d’un bâtard, plutôt une bonne adaptation.
J'ai jamais fait de #VendrediLecture mais je prends comme un signe d'avoir terminé hier soir #LesAventuriersDeLaMer de #RobinHobb. C'est le deuxième cycle de romans après #AssassinRoyal. Ça se passe dans un autre coin du même univers. On peut les lire indépendamment, mais … on gagne à lire les deux 🤐
À lire si on aime les histoires de navire à voile, de pirates, de femmes pirates, mais aussi des histoires mystiques de serpents de mer et de civilisation disparue 1/2

The narrator for the Fitz and The Fool trilogy has consistently said 'Live Ship' as 'liv ship' not 'lIve ship' over a hundred times.
If I had taken a shot a time in the last 5 chapters alone I'd be dead.
If you can be correct with 'Aslevjal' you can manage Live Ship. It's not like it makes sense the other way.
Aside from that, great narration work all round, I love the series and it's as fun listening as it was reading.
Passing character accent notes between trilogies would have been cool, but trad pub doesn't have a handle on narrator consistency yet (still?), and a pronunciation guide.
And giving the narrator a pronunciation guide.
