Why has the assembly allowed the #securitycouncil to continue operating with aggressors at the table and holding veto powers?

The #UN is a mirror held up to liberal democracies (ideally) and the Assembly ought to set about reforming the Charter and its Instruments to reflect post US Hegemony and boycott the SC while doing so until that forum is brought into line with Assembly wishes.

It will never happen. Eventually, a fossilised UN will be irrelevant and die a slow death amidst the rise of new international mechanisms. IMHO

It would be on-brand for Trump to want to withdraw from the United Nations at this point. He's floated that idea and withdrawal from NATO before, so doing this now wouldn't surprise anyone.
