On the #ClimateCrisis NOT GOOD NEWS front:
Thank you, #ShellEnergy , #BP, #ExxonMobile , #TotalEnergies, #OPEC, #etc and - before I forget - A special thanks to #GOP, the bought and paid for #ClimateScienceDeniers who could have acted 25 years ago. (There are far too many co-conspirators to list them all)
Hi,
As you read this, Shell is threatening to sue Greenpeace for a staggering $1.7 million dollars because they dared to challenge their reckless oil expansion plans. This is outrageous. Peaceful protest is not a crime!
I just signed this open letter to Shell expressing my dismay at the case - can you sign it too? https://act.gp/4bOswO9
Greenpeace will be handing in the open letter as evidence in court, so every signature counts!
Thank you
I learned something interesting today: Shell Energy bought Volta sometime last year.
What prompted me to learn this is the Volta charger I’d been using on the weekends for free charging are now Shell branded.
Shell Energy claims to be 100% renewable, but they operate entirely on RECs.
At least the charger is still free, I guess.

Shell Energy's UK consumer business likely to be bought by Octopus Energy. It seems to me the savvy thing to do is to switch to Octopus now and get a joining bonus £50 bonus.
Switch with this link and we both get £50 bill credit:

I'm switching to Octopus Energy from Shell Energy.
I can't very well be a supporter of ClientEarth, who are suing Shell’s Board of Directors for failure to properly prepare for the energy transition and also be a Shell customer.
So glad I took the decision, on #ethical grounds to move to #Ecotricity as my #EnergyCompany, after being moved to #ShellEnergy when my previous supplier #PurePlanet went into adminstration in Sep 2021.
I was moved to #ShellEnergy when my previous supplier, #PurePlanet, went into administration in autumn 2021.
They've always been OK for me, but I resented paying out to a company that is part of a conglomorate that drives #ClimateChange with their #FossilFuels and #Oil, and makes vast #Profits too.
I've just moved to #Ecotricity, and have changed my bank to a more #EcoFriendly one, #TriodosBank.
Job risk as Shell considers quitting energy market

There is something very fishy about this Demand Flexibility Service.
My own supplier (#ShellEnergy) are not taking part yet, but have made it clear that if I want to take part in the future, I will need to sign up for marketing emails.
And it's not just Shell: E.ON are also only offering it to people who have opted into marketing communications.
Why? I really cannot see why there has to be a link with marketing.
Well, it turns out that they're not taking part in the Demand Flexibility Service after all.
Perhaps the whole thing is just a ruse to get more people to sign up for 3rd party marketing emails?
Has anyone actually managed to sign up to the Demand Flexibility Service?
My supplier (Shell Energy) is in theory taking part, but only if they invite you, which they are only doing for a "select few" of their customers.
And the real kicker is that you have to sign up to receive 3rd-party marketing emails, or they'll never invite you at all.
@homeindorset I think it's #ShellEnergy that the fault here rather than the box...
Does anyone else have a #ShellEnergy #SmartMeter? Mine keeps failing to tell the amount used in £££s. OK after a reset.
@welshstu I think #ShellEnergy are on another planet. They’ve been trying to increase my monthly DD for months, even though it’s already about £100 more than my bills, and I’m in increasing credit. They are also not reducing the DD by the £66, but adding that on to increase the credit even more. They don’t respond to emails, and phone calls change nothing.
