Zwei junge Gehäuseschnecken dicht beieinander, beigefarben mit einer wie gefurcht aussehenden Oberfläche auf der großen Rundung und einigen wenigen kleinen bräunlichen Streifen. Die linke Schnecke ist von oben zu sehen, die rechte von der Seite. Beide sind an einer inzwischen trockenen, braunen Blüte, deren spitz auslaufende Blütenblätter oben an den Schnecken ein wenig weitergehen. Auf den ersten Blick könnte man diese beiden Spitzen wie etwas zu den Schnecken gehörig halten.

I especially love the set design that they used on BBC News at Ten, although note the sinistral Polymita 🐌 on the right. #SnailKites in #Florida Probe #CharlesDarwin was right about #Evolution once again.

When #snails--the prey of #SnailKites evolved and got 5x bigger, so did the the #BirdsOfPrey:
their beaks also increased in size, so did their bodies, the latter 12%.

A similar adaptation by another species of #birds had been observed on the #GalapagosIslands.

A small snail (the size of a pebble). Its creamy-coloured shell has two or three dark brown stripes. It looks like walking in its maximum speed (but of course very slowly) with its long stretched neck and antennas.

About the same size small snail but its shell has more reddish complexion. Also, a very thin, green grass fells down on its shell and the snail looks like it's withdrawing its head into the shell.

Somehow turned my Cuban adventures back in March into "breaking news", snail-bombing the whole of the BBC and beyond 🤔😄. Highlight was probably the ITN News at 10 feature that ended with prolonged footage of two snails mating, which is not something I ever imagined could happen in real life on a primetime news programme.
