A customer came in the store today. Dead ringer for my buddy Chewie who died in 2017 or 2018. First time I've had that experience.

Dave was called Chewie by his ex-cellmate Tyler, who ended up being his roommate in the recovery center. It caught on with the guys in the house. Chewie was stout, overweight, looked a little like Jeremy Piven (pre-hair plugs). He was one of the funniest guys I've ever met, and he was such a incredibly nice guy. We were in the same intake group and spent 35 days together in counseling. He relapsed about a year after we exited treatment and then a few years later, I heard through the grapevine that he'd OD'd.
