Here’s a few thoughts on Elizabeth Jane Howard’s debut novel, The Beautiful Visit, 1950, a great read about a teenage girl coming of age at the time of WW1 #bookstodon #BookReview #Storygraph #Braille @bookstodon

TWO JOURNEYS, the amazing adventure story, is now available for review on THE STORYGRAPH. This is the better alternative to Amazon's Goodreads.

Finished Crooked Kingdom yesterday. I was completely smitten with the first part, Six of Crows, so I couldn't wait to dive into this one. But it's a slow starter, so it took me a while to get into. Still, 4/5 stars.

Currently reading: No Longer At Ease by Chinua Achebe. I plan to complete the African Trilogy series now after rereading Things Fall Apart earlier this year.

One of my favourite features of is the monthly stats generator. I did forget to post this earlier, but at least April is still last month.

📚 I don't usually give up on a book, but I just could not make it through Devotions: The Selected Poems of Mary Oliver for the #StoryGraph genre challenge prompt to read a poetry collection centered around nature. I made it 43% of the way through before I had to call it quits.

Poetry just is not my genre, and 480 pages was way too much. I'm going to need, like, a short collection of haiku.

Just set up another #StoryGraph reading challenge, this time for #AnthonyPowell's "standalone” fiction, the novels he wrote before and after his epic, 12-volume "A Dance to the Music of Time”.

ok, i tried out #storygraph and it’s just not really clicking with me. i think it focusses too much on all the recommendation metadata for me, whereas i’m just looking for a simple digital “reading log”. literal hasn’t basically none of the recommendation features and focuses more on sharing the book status with friends and has a much simpler/cleaner/pleasing interface because of it

All I want to do is read. 120 days of tracking pages read on #StoryGraph and my obsession hasn’t abated one bit. I wish my reading reflections could keep pace with my reading/listening speed though! :BlobCat_Headphones:
