In a conversation today with a #Tech person, I was reminded of a funny #Editing story from a job I used to work.

Years ago, I edited a corporate training company's 900-page courseware catalog. There was one #UNIX training course where we had the same issue every year with the wording, and the same request to the Course Developer: "Can we please, please, PLEASE change the wording here?"

One of the bullet points listed in the "What you will learn:" section of the "Course Description" was...

"How to take a stand-alone dump." 😄

I really don't like it when "ask" is used as a noun instead of a verb. Why is it no longer in fashion to say "request"? 😕 #English #TechSpeak

On the bird site I’d see posts that were incomprehensible because the folks posting had no idea what they were talking about.

Here I see post that are incomprehensible because the folks posting know too much about what they are talking about
