Does anyone remember that thing I #tooted awhile back about the #UPS my buddy gave me because it was broken and needed some lovin'?
It's the Alfie - Rack3K one in the pics below.
#Runtime is still calibrating, but the current showing of 10 minutes is more #runtime than its previous owner got out of it under a similar load, and I'm not going to complain if it only lasts 10 minutes, either. That's 10 minutes than than some of that equipment would've had to run in the event of a power outage.
Alfie, Uniblab, (two #ProxMox #virtualization servers I have) three ethernet #switches (two are PoE with LARGE power budgets), and the AT&T Fiber modem all run off the power provided by this #UPS. They've all got their own UPSs as well (one for Alfie, one for Uniblab, one for the switches and the Fiber modem combined) so, when the BIG UPS runs out of juice and shuts off, the secondaries will pick up. All told, I've now got about 33 minutes of #runtime for all my "things" if the power goes out. (The security and cam system is a different animal altogether... that runs for days!)
A little #time, a little #solder, a little #ingenuity, and a lot of #determination got this UPS back up and running. Frugality pays off!
