South Western #Railway has opened a new waiting room at New Malden station to celebrate Europe’s largest #Korean community, marking the Lunar New Year. The space features a Hangeul station sign and artwork by Korean artist Meekyoung Shin, alongside modern customer facilities such as workstations, travel information, ambient lighting, and sound-dampened floors. The Mayor of #Kingston upon #Thames, local councillor Robert Kim, Shin and residents attended the official opening. The project, supported by the New Malden Residents’ Association, highlights the area’s cultural diversity and strengthens community pride.
