My first Thomas Pynchon novel, despite having meant to read him for decades. A dense, intense read, but very worthwhile, and whilst about Reagan's Amerikka and what preceded it is nonetheless very relevant to the events we are living through today.
I look forward to reading the loose adaptation, One Battle After Another.

No real surprise that he was kinda down with the Luddites 40 years ago. Thanks for sharing. I'd never read this before.

About a third of the way into #ShadowTicket by #ThomasPynchon, and it's really galloping.
I'm kind of floored I love it so very much. It's very funny, and sly and oblique about reminding us of the violence, messiness, and tangled ironies of American history that they don't teach about in high school.
The jokes, pacing and so on, the writing in the small -- the dude still Has It. It may not be TRP's best novel, but dang, it's an instant classic and one of the Great American Novels, even so.

Von seinen ca. 25 Büchern (Romanen, Essays, Briefen, Gedichten) gibt grad mal 3 auf Deutschm u.a. den Kultroman »The Monkey Wrench Gang« (1975; Dt. 1987/2010 mit Illustrationen von #RobertCrumb). Eins meiner Lieblingsbücher. Kann ich allen empfehlen, die auch #ThomasPynchon oder »Armageddon Rock« von #GRRMartin mögen.
Schön, dass es nun immerhin bei #ArteDE eine neue Dokumentation über ihn bei uns gibt.
