AI-generated UI is fast but without guardrails, it turns into tech debt. 😬
Common issues:
🌀 Token bloat in CSS
📏 Inconsistent spacing
🚫 Poor color contrast
💻 Non-semantic HTML
Fix it with a human QA playbook:
✅ Design token review
✅ Style-lint rules
✅ Accessibility audit
AI speeds things up, but humans ensure it scales.

Hey friends, my calendar opens up in Q1 2025. If you have contract opportunities in #WebDev, keep me in mind!

I’m pretty flexible—solo dev handling an entire project to staff aug w/ an internal team. Bonus points for #UIDev, #WebAnimation, and #DesignSystems!

I ended up building a way for storing cross-network social profiles that you can re-use when doing @-mentions. Here's the flow - I'm actually liking it.

Maybe one day the service will afford $5k / month to make searching through X profiles work 🤣

Just played with `shadcn-svelte` and `melt-ui` for the first time and 🤯

They allow us to create beautiful and tailored UI with ease and are a huge addition to the Svelte ecosystem

The components are endlessly customizable but come with very slick styles out of the box

To try it out I created this minimal todo: shadcn-svelte-minimal-todo.ver (I need to come up with different sample apps. todo gets boring fast)

Find the code: github.com/SarcevicAntonio/sha

if your templating doesn't have some kind of "if" statement, it's not gonna work for me, sorry.
(btw jsx and html`` are a kind of templating too)

"What are design tokens" –Robin Rendle @fonts
css-tricks.com/what-are-design

Design tokens are the basic styles which make up a design system. Each heading style could be defined as a design token, or each colour swatch, or each spacing value, and so on.

They can be synced directly from Figma into a codebase and are a good way of maintaining consistency between multiple applications.

I'm back on my anti-anti-SPA pulpit.

If you're doing server-side rendering, does that mean you gave up on having a design system? Are you able to compose your views or are you relying on css classNames?

Are you able to test or snapshot your components, or are you relying on e2e tests? Do you really get the same coverage that way?

Are you able to track which page templates/partials are no longer in use, or even know which are out of date? How are you tracking the props that you pass to your templates, is it all untyped or do you have some compile-time checks?

I mean, I'm with you, I'm ready to move on from SPA. But stop acting like TS/JS apps are all downside, when there's a lot of important stuff they give you. Please tell me about your favorite SSR library and how great its templates are. The only one I've seen that seems to address this stuff well is HEEx + Phoenix.

Ok ok I hear you that React is overwrought and SPAs were a mistake but what is the recommended replacement? From what I've seen, different backend languages have different templating systems that aren't trivial to learn. The nice thing about SPA is that it's compatible with any backend. I'm seeing htmx recommended but it doesn't even have a suggested backend library. Are you recommending vanilla JS enhancing static html, keeping the backend out of rendering entirely?

Hi, friends. This informal poll will help inform some formal research I’m doing to make web forms more usable for all of us. I’d love your input for posterity. Maybe a boost, too?

Did you know:

Checkboxes are used for multiple-choice answers and are squares by default.

Radio buttons are used for single-choice answers and are circles by default.

"UI Developers are still underestimated"
by @kotzendekrabbe@twitter.com

This is so true. When I see the poor level of accessible, performant and clear HTML code written in a lot of projects... Let's not talk about CSS, it's worst oftentime.
