So, good news!
My speech pathologist loves where things have settled after #vfs and wants to meet maybe once more this year! Unless there's things I'd specifically like to work on or something changes, I am cleared to do anything but yell. Essentially, my recovery is more or less complete?
We actually worked on strategies today to be loud with the new anatomy without full-on yelling, which .......... was surprisingly euphoric to hear a VERY feminine, girl-like and quite loud "NO!" come from my mouth.

It’s been just over 90 days. I’ll post a video later, but #VFS was probably the best decision I’ve made so far in #transition. My voice dysphoria is gone and I’m really loving how my sound is evolving.

THE PROBLEM:
#Podman is using the #VFS storage driver which is basically copying entire filesystems for every layer.
nginx-proxy-manager image probably expanded from 1.13GB to 15-20GB+ because VFS makes full copies instead of using efficient layers.
This begs the question.

I work in #healthcare #tech, where I help connect at-risk patients with faster care. I travel a lot for work and never say no to a window seat.

#VFS results after (just about) one month.
Still some healing to go but ... y’all ... holy cow.
Just finished my three week - well, slightly more - check-in with my surgeon. He said everything is sounding great, and that some of the strength would come back and breathiness would go away as the botox continues to wear off more. To keep up with speech therapy.
And .... I can start having caffeine and chocolate again!!! 🩷
So, I can say about three short, quiet sentences before it’s too much. Definitely don’t want to push things too much on the first day but … wow.
The sentences I’ve said so far have been around 190-200hz. The absolute best I could sustain with my trained voice before was about 220hz, which I would lose if I got emotional or needed to explain something complex. If I end up somewhere around there, but with no effort, I will consider doing this a complete success.
I meet with my speech pathologist later today for more formal training.
