@meganL @SRLevine Yeah I agree. #WeekWithoutDriving is primarily meant to give people who use cars as their means of transport an opportunity to experience other modes of travel.

Thank you to our network members who logged trips on GetThereOregon.org during #WeekWithoutDriving. Collectively, you logged over 2,700 unique trips, replacing over 23,000 single-occupancy vehicle miles traveled, reducing over 9 tons of CO2, and saving more than $12,000.

My successful #weekwithoutdriving ends today. I biked two trips which I would have otherwise ridden in a car this week. Mission accomplished.

I did the entire week on a bike. I think I need to make it a bit weirder next year, like using a different transport mode each day! Bus, bike, train, walk, escooter, bikeshare... what's left for day 7?

Finished off #WeekWithoutDriving with a refill run to Mama & Hapa’s Zero Waste Shop and a bit of groceries at New Seasons.

Unfortunately, my partner wanted to go to Whole Foods (4.4 miles away), so I got picked up in a car to go there then back home 🙃 I’ll squeeze in a good #coffeeneuring ride next time!

"Wyatt is car-free, relying on MAX and bus routes every day for his commute to work, grocery shopping, and exploring the city. He believes transit is essential for healthy communities. Despite growing up in a small desert town without many transportation options, he has never been interested in driving; advocating for a car-free/lite lifestyle among his friends, coworkers, and family. He enjoys the freedom public transit provides but wishes it were more reliable, accessible, and available at night to fit his work schedule. Hot + humid out there (at least for October), so the ride to the farmers market was a bit sticky. Got a big lemonade once we arrived, picked up lots of early autumn produce, snagged some tasty baked goods, & then decided to head home. #BikeTooter #WeekWithoutDriving

Yay, this is all wonderful news! I believe this also happens to be #weekwithoutdriving in the USA, making it an extra special week to replace a car trip with a bike ride.

#WeekWithoutDriving thoughts: Helps not to have kids in a zillion activities, I know. I taught my kids to ride city bus when I started bike commuting; gave them transpo skills for a lifetime + independence, freed me from chauffeur duties much of the time.

#WeekWithoutDriving thoughts: I'm fortunate to have enough money to have an e-bike for heavy hauling when needed, and to flatten hills. Biking is helping me through some knee pain right now too (easier than walking!). Biking husband + friends = social travel bonus.

#WeekWithoutDriving thoughts: I've already arranged my life to have transportation freedom without a car. When I need to be a nondriver someday I won't miss a beat. My dad lost his independence when he had to stop driving because he couldn't consider/use other modes. Not me!
