My Windows XP EEEPC with a 300GB Mechanical HDD and 1GB of ram boots to a usable desktop in 25-30 seconds - Not including the 10 second POST time.

That's freaking fast. And it's not a clean install; It's mildly lived in, I have Visual Studio, RCT 1 & 2, GTA 3, Halo, Half Life, Age of Empires 1 & 2 & Expansion for Both + Forgotten Empires, Daemon Tools, Supermium for a Browser, VLC (which still compiles for XP by the way!) and ConEmu (replaces cmd), and Piriform Defraggler (Because that was actually worth a damn at this time).

Oh and Steam, though it's yelling about Windows 10 32 bit not being supported soon.

Oh Oh and a Replacement Start Menu that gives me the menu from Windows 7.

Retour sur 6 mois d'utilisation exclusive de #Linuxmint ( #cinnamon ) après avoir pris la(difficile)décision de ne plus avoir de postes #Windows.
Je cumule #linux et des #virtualisation de #windowsXP, #windows7, #vista en 32 et 64b. (pour tests et l'accés à d'anciens dossiers et logiciels bureautique, Dao, Cao et d'autres encore plus spécifiques tout en cherchant leur équivalent ss Linux)
Ravi, tout fonctionne bien, au delà de mes espérances. (avec quand même de bonnes bases en bidouillage).

just installed windows xp in a vm to extract the cursor-files - oh man, why did m$ go away from that design - it was so joyful and fun ... and the system was FAST 🙂
