We'll all get a lot more out of our events when we practice wirearchy, not hierarchy. I encourage you to join me.

@andrewtrickett Good to know you're feeling better from that cold. And quite an interesting idea RE: DAO and . Perhaps a topic for our next monthly gathering, along with Mastodon? ๐Ÿค”

Oh, my! I can't possibly be the only one cringing (a little bit ๐Ÿ˜ฌ) after seeing this: MSFT VIVA Engage Copilot ๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿป bit.ly/VIVAEngageCopilot

Seriously? Is Yammer (=VIVA Engage) going to turn itself into the new (๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿป bit.ly/3lBeH0b) BEHIND the firewall? Whatever happened to honesty, authenticity, vulnerability, responsibility, accountability? We completely forgot about them? ๐Ÿ˜ค๐Ÿคฌ๐Ÿ˜ฑ

@judell @dweinberger Oh, gosh, Jon, indeed! In a way, that's also how it feels over here in . Just like a lovely trip down the memory lane of the early days of Web 2.0.

In fact, I've noticed how plenty of the people I keep reconnecting with, are early bloggers. Folks who then adapted to , then drift away elsewhere to, finally, come back to the beginning:

An Open Social Web, decentralised, distributed, hyperconnected, networked civil ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป

@andrewtrickett Thanks a bunch for the heads-up and for the feedback, Andrew? Was that article this one by any chance? ๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿป sitra.fi/en/articles/emerging-

(It *still* is one of my favourite reads from him RE: social networks as organising principles a la . I miss him ๐Ÿ˜ข)

From Groupware to Web 2.0 / Enterprise 2.0 to then Groupware 2.0 (= Chatting & Messaging Apps). All of that over the course of roughly 3 short decades.

Fast forward another decade to 2022/23 and Musk may have provoked, unintentionally, the 4th technology lifecycle shift: Open, Decentralised, Distributed .

Will it blend this time around? ๐Ÿค”

Note to self: remember the main good old difference between (Twitter, LI, FB, IG, TikTok, etc.) and (= , , , blogs, etc.):

- Building an audience (= ) vs. Building a community (= )

Do better. Choose wisely. Stick around with what helps you co-create and co-learn together. After all, when was the last time you saw a selfie being posted over here, for instance? ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป

Continuing further with building new habits here in , this one is not necessarily 'new', but it's probably one of my favourites:

As my main timeline starts getting excitingly buzzier, I have now created 3 main lists of folks I follow:

- Collaborators
- Cooperators
- People I Learn From

This blog post ๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿป bit.ly/3uJ1IKV from 2015 describes pretty much how I plan to use these Lists from here onwards ๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป

One of the many unexpected perks of diving into the : re-connecting with one's social networks 'lost in time' (10, 15, 20 years ago!) & learn more about what they are currently working on / doing ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿป๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿป

Then mix that massive learning curve with the ability to nurture, build & sustain 'new' networks of other folks also doing some really cool stuff! ๐Ÿคฏ

Oooh, and all of that, on *your* terms, no algos involved ๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป
