If you or your doctor think you have an injury or pain because of repetitive work from your job, that's a cumulative trauma. Report the injury and seek medical treatment! Consult with an attorney if you have questions about cumulative traumas if you think you suffer from one

#HB542 re increasing the maximum amount in #unemployment per week people can qualify for plus increasing the amount of time they can collect is continuing on as well.

#HB744 which increases workers compensation from 60% up to 66% is continuing on too

Here’s the form to use to support these bills.

Tuesday 2/4

Choose the Labor committee from the drop down

11:30 HB542 increases unemployment weekly maximum amounts and the total you can collect

1:00 HB442 prohibits sub-minimal wages

2:00 HB726 INCREASES MINIMUM WAGE

3:00 HB744 increases workers comp from 60% to 66%

4:00 HB378 requires employers to pay out unused paid time off

gc.nh.gov/house/committees/rem

If anyone can take a moment and click that they support these things it would be really helpful. I think we were able to kill a 15 week abortion ban with public comments, if we can get support for these we might actually get a #minimumwage above $7.25 an hour.

Sometimes people spend hours beating their heads against the wall, hopefully eventually finding out it was a waste of time. ASTM International just published a new standard ASTM F2047-25 Standard Practice for Workers’ Compensation Coverage of Emergency Services Volunteers. It is a great concept, except a standard from the ASTM is never going to change state law or an insurance contract.

A serious look at price controls on all forms of #insurance is needed to put the next damper on #inflation. Yes, insurers will say it’s the #electronics in the cars, or #materials in home building, but it has been out of hand in #health and commercial #smallbusiness and #workerscomp for a generation. Double digit increases resulting in a doubling of premiums approximately every 5 years. -From a small biz.

Good news on the #labor front.

Our union (#teamsterslocal783 ) has successfully raised wages for the EMS members it represents as well as two other EMS systems that are not union!

We were able to secure a 33% over 3 years raise. This put us just higher than other EMS systems in the county.

With in weeks two other systems had to increase pay by 15-20% to keep workers from joining our system.

Goes to show how #unions improve all #workerscomp #WorkersRights

“Workers Comp raises a raucous, twanging ruckus on this self-titled debut, spitting home-spun poetry about dead-end jobs off the back end of a bucking blues-vamp,” writes Jennifer Kelly. dustedmagazine.tumblr.com/post #music #punkrock #workerscomp #everneverrecords

"6% of Workers' Comp Cases Are for Long COVID, But Many Can't Collect"

Long COVID cases now account for 6% of all workers' compensation claims, according to a new study released by the Workers Compensation Research Institute (WCRI), a nonprofit research and trade group.

But many who have filed such claims have been unable to collect, in part because of variations in how states administer the insurance program designed to protect people who get sick or injured on the job, experts say.Among the workers who are struggling to receive benefits are essential workers — hospital staff, medics, teachers, and others who were unable to work remotely during the early days of the pandemic, often putting themselves at higher risk for infection.

For all the parades, posters, and thank-you notes for essential workers in the early days of the pandemic, some are finding it difficult to receive compensation.

My sister got clouted with a thrown table while breaking up a student fight. It came down on the same leg she broke when we were hiking in Canada, the one with all the pins. So she'll be doing three weeks of PT and not coming to visit after all. The glamorous teacher lifestyle. /sigh
