My last book event went well, so today I need to re-order stock, but...oof.
I've spent hours arguing w/myself about ordering carton quantities instead of just-enough copies for the next convention.
Good rational arguments:
A) I can afford it now but might not later
B) prices are due to rise soon
C) storage isn't an issue

But the $$ hurts my penny-pinching soul, & there's an irrational but real fear of ending up w/tons of books no one else wants.

This is nuts! I keep juggling work on two #novels instead of hunkering down and finishing one of them. Just when I think I've gotten over the hurdle and am focused on one of them, my brain suddenly says "hey, I've got a great idea for a scene -- in the other one." 🤦‍♂️ #writerproblems

One of the magical things about making stories is that one day you can be spending an inordinate amount of time trying to figure out a key plot point involving interstellar travel, aliens, and saving several shipfuls of people, and then another day expending the same brainpower trying to figure out if two characters are fishing while they’re talking?? Eating something?? Wearing clothes?? What is happening here??
