- July 19th 2025 is the go-live date for 3rd Kickstarter Campaign for the ZX Spectrum Next. With this (likely final) campaign, they hope to expand the community: the more people with Nexts in their hands, the more stuff gets made for us all.
- The Sinclair QL Next core has reached maturity
- The Next will be able to legally run a Commodore 64 core hassle-free – aka The Next64.

@tsturm Do you have its source public per chance? Curious to take a look :) On #ZxSpectrumNext with its CTC interrupts (that can be programmed to happen say at a 800Hz frequency) it is quite achievable to have "threads" in your Speccy program, I was thinking about adding that to my own software just for kicks.

I found a nice 4" display that perfectly fits Xberry Pi #ZxSpectrumNext clone by Don Superfo (no relation to Rasp Pi except the form factor - see https://github.com/DonSuperfo/Xberry-Pi ). A jumper-like HDMI connector joins them, and the screw positions match (display was designed for the same form factor).

And the board even gets the power through HDMI (which was an undesirable effect on KS1 afaiu, but here it works for the best)!

Apart of the PS/2 keyboard and external audio this is a pretty portable setup.

This is a pretty cool #ZxSpectrumNext game by @patmorita , spent good chunk of the evening playing it together with my daughter (who asked "is it made in Minecraft?" - not a bad guess for a 5 y.o.)

The game wasn't too hard although I would still appreciate a casual mode so that we could finish it in one evening ;)

Multipaint is a paint program that runs on Windows, Mac OS X and Linux and specialises in retro pixel art. The tool, which is now available in version 3.2.2025, supports the creation of graphics under the colour restrictions of classic 8- and 16-bit platforms - not only the Amiga, but also other retro systems such as C64, ZX Spectrum, MSX, CPC and Atari ST.
