Mysterious #RyzenPro 7000G #CPU imply #AMD's last-minute decision to change model numbers — #Ryzen3 Pro 7300G and Ryzen 5 Pro 7500G pose for the camera
Essentialy Phoenix 2-based #Ryzen5 8500G/8400F and Ryzen 3 8300G feature lower clocks (as they use #Zen4c cores and full-fat Zen 4 cores) than their Raphael-based counterparts and lack an AI engine, which makes them a mediocre choice compared to mainstream Ryzen 7000-series non-G parts, despite higher model numbers.

#AMD 128-core #Zen5-based #EPYC9755 'Turin' tested: 2X faster than 128-core predecessor compared to the #Zen4c #EPYC 9654 'Bergamo' in #7Zip
Considering microarchitectural improvements of Zen 5 over Zen 4, higher clocks, and a larger cache, the EPYC 9755 can indeed be two times faster than the EPYC 9654 in many workloads, especially because being Zen 5-based, it is aimed at workloads sensitive to single-thread performance, unlike the Zen 4c-based CPU.

Phoronix recently reviewed #AMD's new #Zen4c equipped #EPYC 8324P and 8324PN (Siena) server processors in #Linux and found that both chips offer outstanding performance in server workloads. In testing, Phoronix found that both AMD Zen 4c chips could match the performance of an #Intel Xeon Gold 6421N 32-core processor in most workloads while operating with substantially lower power consumption.

#AMD #EPYC #Bergamo is Fantastically Fresh Take on #CloudNative Compute
AMD was able to shrink each #CCD by adopting new #Zen4c core. AMD has less L3 cache (half at 2MB versus 4MB) with Zen 4c, and that allowed company to shrink area in a straightforward manner. Big change is transitioning to 12x 8-core CCDs on 96-core #Genoa to 8x 16-core CCD on Bergamo. Expect #EPYC9754 to be 15-20% faster than #EPYC9654 not a straight 33% as would be expected due to core count increase

#AMD #EPYC #Bergamo Launched 128 Cores Per Socket
Given the popularity of 2U 4 node chassis on the market, this will make a 2U4N platform a 2048 thread machine or one with 1024 threads per U. AMD’s approach is straightforward. It is trading cache size for core density in this generation. The #Zen4c core is 35% smaller than the #Zen4 core, largely from reducing cache sizes and optimizing the footprint around that.

#Zen4c: #AMD’s Response to #Hyperscale ARM & Intel Atom
#Bergamo, AMD’s upcoming 128-core server part sets new heights in #x86 #CPU performance. At the heart of Bergamo is #Zen 4c, a brand-new CPU core variant of their successful #5nm #Zen4 #microarchitecture that enables the push toward more cores per socket. Zen 4c enables Bergamo to fit 1.33x the number of cores in the same #SP5 socket and 360W TDP, with identical L1 and 1MB L2 private caches to Zen 4.
