Fork of popular #jsch #java #ssh library seems to work with #apacheant. I’ve build current github version, put jar file into ~/.ant/lib subdir and connected using ed25519 key pair :-). Now I would ask the #apache #ant team to update documentation and point to the new external library dependencies, but I’m not sure where send the request 🤷
I find myself back on my 12" #PowerBook running #MacOSX 10.5.8 Leopard. I’m inspired once again to compile the code for a nearly 20 year old Java 2 Mobile Edition MIDlet after having found a long standing bug and fixed it during the early pandemic.
Having found an old bookmark in my browser, I’ve looked up the Sun Java site in #InternetArchive and now have a working toolchain.
But apparently, this code is filled with MORE bugs? How the heck did I even get this to compile in the first place‽
Who needs sleep when there’s a fix needed for obsolete software? 🙃
Why does so much software try to abuse a configuration language like #yaml for controll flow? I thought we learned that lesson with #ApacheAnt years ago.

Just different versions of the kinds of things done in #Make files building stuff using the likes of C/C++. The joys of the amount of hours saved by automation when you had a well crafted Makefile ⌛
