Omg the Titanium Powerbook G4 I ordered off ebay is a thing of beauty. I got it online in only a few minutes in mac OS 9 by sharing my wifi connection to it via ethernet. It's in almost perfect condition and the screen looks amazing. I'm so happy right now.

Nice little present for myself.

Can't wait to get an ssh client on there and use it to talk to more modern services / mount some of my music etc over to it using netatalk.

... heute eine bestimmte Datei gesucht und dafür das alte powerbook G4 aus dem Jahr 2000, auf dem eine VectorWorks Kopie installiert ist, eingeschaltet. Der Mac - immerhin 25 Jahre alt - läuft wie am ersten Tag.

Free to a good home: Two 512 meg RAM modules. I'm pretty sure these were what came from the factory in a PowerBook G4 in 2004. They're in the cases from the DIMMs that replaced them. :apple_inc: :mem_0:

Using this #Framework laptop reminds me of what was probably the most fun laptop I previously owned; an #Apple #Powerbook 1400 from the 90s. What I loved about that was the swappable expansion bays, for which I could swap out a floppy drive, a CD drive, a Zip drive, and a spare battery. This isn't that, of course. All that is long obsolete. But this #Framework Laptop 12 features 4 hot-swappable slots, for which I have a range of connectivity and expansion cards. I find that kind of stuff fun.

EDIT: It has found a home.

#FreeToAGoodHome is another PowerBook Duo AC adaptor. Model no AA19200. There's a little paper stuck to the rubber antiskid strips on the bottom. :apple_inc:

#FreeToAGoodHome I have an old PowerBook microphone up for grabs. It's shaped like a first-gen PlainTalk mic, but it has a normal TRS connector on it.

I found sad_mac selling 68040 33/66 daughter cards on eBay for PowerBook 500 series. He has more than 10 and I figure they came out of 540c machines that got PPC upgrades. I only have a 520c and figured, let's see if it'll bump to 33Mhz since the clock crystal is on the card. He offered it to me for $15 plus shipping which was a good deal. Card works great in my 520c. Will run some Snooper tests soon.

@hp wow, well, I've got a little pile of floppy disks on my desk, like 30cm away from me 😅
I don't use them daily, I'm just messy and leave a lot of stuff everywhere 😅
The nearest one (the first of the pile) has a lot of handwritten stuff on it, but none reflecting its content. It's probably mac-formatted because I was repairing a #Powerbook 170 last time I used them. The second one, btw, is definitely something for my #amstrad #ppc640 because it has a piece of tape on the right hole to make it recognized as 720k, and the amstrad is the only 720k machine I've got around...
