A wrought iron, octagonal bandstand, painted black, on a low red brick base in an open grassy park, with a couple of dirt paths passing by it.

This one is in Newsham Park in Liverpool.

A pretty octagonal wrought iron bandstand surrounded by a paved area in a park. It's mostly painted white, with coloured highlights, and a green copper roof. Just to one side of it is the Isla Gladstone conservatory, a relatively-recently restored Victorian glasshouse.

This is in Stanley Park in Liverpool, and while taking it I could hear the excitement of the crowd at one of Everton's last games at the nearby Goodison Park.

Another octagonal wrought iron bandstand, this one painted white with black details. It's on a stone-walled pedestal and surrounded by grass and then a black metal fence.

In 1924, it was purchased by the Fourth District Council to be installed in the newly created Alexander Hamilton Memorial Park. In the same year, the current bandstand was constructed in Kelvingrove Park to replace it.

This is the Alexander Hamilton Memorial Park Bandstand in Stonehouse in Lanarkshire. Why am I posting a photo of it here? That's because it started life as one of two bandstands erected in Kelvingrove Park for the 1911 Glasgow International Exhibition. As far as I can work out, it was sited near the banks of the River Kelvin pretty close to the location of the current bandstand.

A typical pre-World War I octagonal ornamental bandstand made from cast iron and concrete.

Kelvingrove Bandstand and Amphitheatre. Built in 1924 by the Glasgow Public Parks Department, it's one of the earliest examples of a post-WWI public bandstands to break from the pre-war tradition of octagonal ones.
