A few things you could do:
- Boycott YouTube for 30 days and You can use NewPipe (Android) and FreeTube (Desktop).
- Delete your Facebook account
- Stay on Windows 10
- Send a nasty email to HR@opm.gov and tell Elon Musk to fuck off.

Google Drive empty. Google password storage empty. Google Notes empty (moved to Joplin). All online accounts switched from Google to Proton email log in.
I'll keep my Google account with a very minimal footprint (for Android - so I don't lose stuff I bought through their store).
I'll leave it there. Feel utterly un-Big-Tech'd after the last few weeks...
Oh - and Signal is full of friends now.
Things moving swiftly this morning. Four close friends joined Signal. Only need to persuade the wife - I'm hoping FOMO kicks in.
Also signed up to Proton Drive, cancelled my Google Drive subscription and started the long process of transferring our files over.

I just created my account.. discovering #mastodon and hope to be positively surprised. I can’t stand US traditional platforms owned by nauseatingly rich elites & politicized aliens. We have to take back our #onlinefreedom (it sounds so utopian in 2025 but I still dream about it).

Earlier this week I deprecated my #Facebook profile in favour of #Mastodon, #MatrixChat and #SignalMessenger.
Although it feels like a bit of a loss, what with my >1000 friends/acquaintances on there, it was flooded with useless crap like sponsored ads, algorithm shit and such.
Decidedly _not_ a good experience.
Some friends have already connected with me here and my alt @papiris@fribygda.no instead (hey @_michaljan!), so it'll be fine.
It feels so empowering to reclaim my online life!
I just delted both my Youtube channels.
Downloaded the 30-or-so videos I had there first, of course. Vestiges of my youth, I haven't uploaded anything or actively interacted there for years.
I don't feel a smidgen of loss.
Good riddance.
I have no doubt lemmy would replace reddit for me atleast, as the community based approach of reddit or lemmy is what drives it. And keeps it engaging. And reddit screwed everything so lemmy is gaining engagement due to community based approach and it keeps growing.
