Torre dei Prendiparte for #windowfriday 🏰

At 60 meters tall and built in the 12th century the Prendiparte Tower is a sight to behold. It is 12 floors high (it was probably taller though) and thanks to some great restoration efforts is pretty much completely accessible. It's been a Home, a Bastion, an Archbishop's Seminary and the third, fourth and fifth floors were a prison. From the top you've got one hell of a view! ✨

Open Seas-a-me for #doorsday 🌊

This is the Fontana del Nettuno in Piazza Nettuno. Neptune is the Roman God of the Seas (and Horses funnily enough.) The bottom of the fountain is covered - because of restoration. It was designed by Tommaso Laureti in 1563 and finished in 1565. The statue of Neptune however wasn't finished until 1566 and was created by Giambologna/Baccio Bandinelli. This photo was taken from inside Palazzo Re Enzo which was founded in 1246. ✨

A Timely Entrance/Exit for #doorsday ⏰

There are quite a few sundials and meridian line sundials around Bologna! Unfortunately I don't know the history of this one, I've tried looking, I've found it on maps but the only information I can get on it is that it is a private residence. If you look at it closely you can see the image of a crab representing Cancer on the left hand side of the dial and some.scales representing Libra on the right! ✨
