Orange County Parks and Recreation is the #countyPark department in #OrangeCountyFlorida, United States. It maintains and operates a number of parks, #multiuseTrails, and community #recreationCenters.

I delved deeper into the southern reaches of the McKay Community Forest, which is still mostly not technically open, but not closed either. It is definitely green.

Looking down Henderson Gulch at the almost crossing.

Looking directly down past shoes on a log to water some 8-10 feet lower. On the other side of the water, just a step away, is a growing tree. The log probably isn't quite dead yet either. A few plants poke out from the edges.

Narrow path is barely clear of plants. Big arctic butterbur leaves creep over the sides at first, then larger ferns. Narrow hardwoods stand scattered among them, denser at the edges. Sunlight filters through the leaves unseen above.

Western starflower.

Pink flowers like six pointed stars with a white center sit on threadlike stems in groups of 2-4 from the center of a small cluster of 3-5 leaves. Two plants are visible and two more at the edges.

Back to Henderson Gulch, but crossing at another spot where there are quite a few crossings, but only one you might want to use.

Water flows at the bottom of a narrow but deep cleft in the dirt. Plants grown in varied clumps from either side. Small branches and sticks are seen to be crossing the narrow gulf.
