She really got that right early - the fact that the religion affected her mother and made many parents abusive. Now, in the US, more people are deconstructing than 20 years ago, but it's all about the effect on ourselves. But the fact is, christianity stunts personal growth and creates immature parents who physically or emotionally abuse their kids.

Well at least maybe she's letting go and not blaming herself. That's a way to look at it.
Did I ever mention that in a galaxy far away I was a full-time #Christian worker? Most of my employment was in #evangelical and #pentecostal welfare and parachurch ministries. But I also held a couple of pastoral positions. This was last position before #deconversion , I held a dual role running the church office during the week and was the creative director overseeing the Sunday services. I also made us one of the first churches in our denomination to get into #socialmedia.
Now I'm a queer, trans, #agnosticatheist who couldn't give a shit about that stuff. 🤷♀️💅🏳️⚧️
