Side view of a twin engined biplane airliner taxiing from left to right on a grass airfield. The plane is mostly white, with a grey belly, and a green and black cheatline running aling the body. There are "Caernarfon Air World" titles on the lower forward fuselage in green. The forward fuselage and cockpit are extensively glazed, with the pilot visible right at the front, and a woman with dark hair in the front right passenger seat looking out towards the camera. In the background, a brown brick building with the top floor completely glazed dominates the middle of the frame, withlaight aircraft and vehicles clustered around it, with trees in the distance, under a grey sky.Side view of a 4 engined bizjet, with the engines mounted in pairs on either side of the rear fuselage, taxiing from right to left. The plane is mostly white, with a blue and grey cheatline running along the fuselage and lower parts of the engine pods, as well as along the wing-mounted external fueltanks. A second, thinner, blue cheatline runs along the top of the fuselage, sweeping up into the tail where it widens out to reveal the grey middle. The registration "N118B" is on the engione pods in blue, while the tail has 4 5 pointed blue stars arranged in a diamond pattern. In the background, grass runs off into the distance, with trees visible on the horizon on the left of the frame, under a bright but hazy sky. A fine, square moire pattern covers the entire image, probably caused by shooting through a fine mesh fence.Side view of a twin engiend jet airliner taxiing from left to right over a light layer of snow. The plane is mostly white, with a darlk, light, and pale blue stripe running along the fuselage and up into the tail, where it becomes the pole for a waving blue, red, and white flag. There are "Air UK leisure" titles on the upper forward fuselage, the first part in dark blue, the latter in red and appearing to be handwritten. The registration "G-UKLF" is on the upper rear fuselage in black. A light dusting of snow covers the ground - taxiways and the runway have been cleared and are reflecting bright, golden, early morning sunlight. In the distance, black hangars can be seen, their roofs also covered in snow, with trees behind, slowly vanishing in to haze, under a hazy yellow-tinged sky.

Fairchild Argus II This Fairchild monoplane was known as the Argus in British service, and was used by both the Royal Navy and Royal Air Force during WW2. It is seen at the Yorkshire Air Museum in the colours of a RAF 'second line' WW2 aircraft, in that its undersurfaces are painted yellow, as were trainers, communications aircraft and other types. On the nose you can see the badge of the Air Transport Auxiliary, a civilian, but uniformed, body of men and women. The ATA were headquartered at White Waltham and flew operational aircraft from factories to storage facilities, training units and operational Squadrons. The Argus (and other types such as the DH89 Dragon Rapide and Avro Anson) operated a 'air taxi' service shuttling pilots around. #WW2 #SecondWorld War #FairchildArgus #YorkshireAirMuseum #Yorkshire #unitedkingdom #aircraft #avgeek #aviation #history #DragonRapide #FairchildArgus #AvroAnson #ATA #AirTransportAuxiliary #WhiteWaltham #avroAnson #DragonRapide #RoyalNavy #Fairchild
